I'm sure the majority of us agree that LSU will be looking for a new men's head basketball coach at this time next year.

Has there ever been a lame duck LSU coach in any of the the three big sports?

Trent Johnson was awful. Nikki Caldwell is awful.

Has Alleva come out in support or Johnny or Nikki yet? I think Les pretty much told Joe to go frick himself.

LSU will most likely be looking for a new AD and 2 new basketball coaches soon.

No, I dont agree with that. I love how our fans are trying to destroy future recruiting classes though.

Thats what Im getting at. If everyone returns, it isnt out of the question if Blakeney and Victor continue to improve. All the negativity is not helping us on the recruiting trail at all.

Hey I'm not the one that thinks Jones is criticized based on the color of his skin.

without simmons and hopefully quarterman, LSU will make the NCAA....Simmons was a distraction who was just playing out his mandatory year, and Quarterman was very inconsistent......

I keep asking this question and no one has ever given me a good answer. How can we defend the low post next season with just 2 players, Victor who has to improve drastically on his fouling situation and Reath, an unproven juco guy?

Darcy & Elbert are and will be terrible and Epps may or may not be any good but regardless, he'd rather play outside.

Charlie Mac was told in 1978 that the 1979 football season would be his last, and that his contract would not be renewed.

Is it the negativity or the things that created the negativity that are hurting us?

Yea, it's fans on the internet posters hurting recruiting. Not a team with a top 5 class choking away a season that has a future NBA #1 pick.

I will not watch an LSU Basketball game for the remainder of 2016.

Out of conference teams have not been announced, but I am going to skip watching Johnny get outcoached by a guy with half the talent.

I'm going to avoid the meltdown of watching LSU lose to Texas A&M-Kingsville on a Tuesday night in November.

Jones signed 5 players in the early signing period at a time when LSU was coming off a NCAAT appearance the year before AND had the most hype coming into a season that they've had in quite a while. The previous recruiting class had two McDonald's All Americans and this year's class was going to have a ton of scholarships available. With all that "positivity", Jones managed to wrangle in what is now the 53rd best class in the country.

Any and all negativity now was created by Jones and his lack of ability to do anything with what many felt was a pretty good roster. Still, even with the program at a high-point in goodwill before this season, Jones wasn't able to capitalize by bringing in a good recruiting class. So I doubt the "negativity" on this board is what is really hurting recruiting. I think Jones and co. falling flat on their face this season may be more to blame.

Great! So if all the pieces fall in to place (which at this point seems unlikely), maybe, just MAYBE, LSU can sneak into the NCAA tournament. I think that is a clear indictment of just how weak a coach Jones is. In a power conference, he needs EVERYTHING to break his way just for LSU to sneak into the NCAAT. Not be competitive or make a good run, but just to get in the damn thing.

Give me one good reason why anyone should be optimistic that Jones would be able to lead LSU to the tournament next year? LSU couldn't make it this season with a solid roster in an incredibly weak conference. UK and A&M had the lowest conf. winning % of any SEC champ in at least 15 years (if not more). Even with inconsistent play, LSU was STILL in position to win the SEC with 3 weeks to go. Instead of getting his team to fight for the title, LSU simply just quit.

So I'll ask it for the hundredth time. What benefit does LSU receive by bring Jones back for what will be a de facto ultimatum year? It's unfair to Jones because he will likely be unable to meet the benchmark set for next season and unfair to the program/fans because it just waste a year prolonging the inevitable
