The arrogant little punk thinks that he can take what he wants. He grew up with the notion that he is better than everyone else. So he is at home at A&M. Before this is over, ESPN will somehow paint him as the victim. He should be forced to give up the Heisman. Does he represent what this trophy stands for? But seriously, why can't he profit off his own autograph. It is as bad as kicking a college superstar off your team for testing positive for pot. But the rules are there and until they are changed. They must be followed.

Am I the only one here that agrees with the OP? Of course I want Manziel to play. I'm a Tiger fan, of course, but I want to see great college football games, and that means playing other teams at their best. Sure it might mean the risk of losing, but don't you all want to see great games with the best talent on the field (on both sides)?

We'd have much more satisfaction if we beat them with JFF playing, rather than some backup.

You guys need to get over it. The Honey Badger was a talented player who was arrogant and stupid and let down himself, LSU and you, the fans.

"Money Badger" is f'n clever and hilarious and 100% apropos. I hope it takes off like wildfire to replace the ridiculous "JFF" monicker.

In terms of this incident, it's irrelevant. While I may agree that the NCAA is wrong and that players ought to completely control their likenesses and be able to profit off of them while the NCAA, universities, media, etc do...none of that has anything to do with whether or not he knowingly broke current rules.

Again...the kid's not Rosa Parks. He's apparently not heard on these tapes suggesting he's selling his autograph to make a point to the NCAA and to benefit his fellow amateur athletes when his case makes it to the USSC. He's doing it precisely for the reason it's currently banned. And what makes his case even more obnoxious is that with him you've got a kid that doesn't NEED the money, only wants it.

As much as I'd love to see Freak break him in half in Tiger stadium this fall, he needs to be gone ASAP.

Don't care either way.

Would beating the Aggies again feel as good if the Money Badger is not on the team?

Yes. I have a love for the feeling of victory.

quote:

Is the Aggie arrogance making them the new number 1 on LSU's hit list or are they still an after thought?

Neither. They're just another good team on the schedule. LSU must kill their hopes and dreams.

Does it make you mad knowing that they already think that they have overtaken LSU in the SEC?

No, but they do need to be brought back down to earth.

He comes from a family with hundreds of millions of dollars.

Do you really believe he needs the 5 or 10k from signing autographs?

ESPN and the NCAA are the ones leading this witchhunt. There is ZERO evidence of him having taken ANY money.

Yet here you are, asking him to be attacked...while seeing videos of LSU players commit crimes, then argue "we dont know the situation". what a farce.

Is it because he is white?

I heard a report that he would only miss 5 games if the NCAA rules Manziel inegiible, meaning he would not be suspended for the LSU game. Is this true or am I completely off base.

based on what? They have no evidence of him doing anything other than signing autographs...which is legal under NCAA rules.

This.

I hope he plays vs Bama, beats them and doesn't play against LSU. Win Baby WIN!

Look at Oregon 2007. Killing people until Dixon got hurt. Barely finished in the top 25 or out. Looks like USC lost to a bad team. Did they? No. But no one cares or remembers. They were out. Hell, most of the national media don't realize Bama was beaten by LSU in 2011. All about outcomes.

I'm with the swelling amounts of people who think that the rules need to be changed. But the fact is, he broke the rules and he believes he is above them.

Dez Bryant has a point about the NCAA being grossly inconsistent. He was suspended the rest of the season (ten games, I believe) for going to eat with Dion Sanders and not admitting it. He didn't take any money, nor was his meal paid for; he just didn't want to be interrogated.

Here we have a kid who doesn't need money. He just wants to be defiant and live above the rules that everyone else plays by (okay, not everyone). I know there isn't "proof of money changing hands" but I'd be upset if this didn't end with some sort of punishment.

All that said....I'm mixed on him playing against LSU. I'd love to see the speed of our defense against his playmaking ability, but LSU's chances of winning drastically increase if he's out, IMO.
