lee starts about 8 minute mark:

For four years, Lee was in a battle for the starting job and then playing time with Jordan Jefferson. The strong-armed Texan emerged as the starter as a redshirt freshman in 2008 and in eight games, he was 143-of-269 passing for 1,873 yards and 14 touchdowns and wound up ranked second in program history among freshman QBs to Tommy Hodson in yards, touchdowns, attempts and completions.

Right before his senior season, Jefferson's some off-the-field trouble thrust Lee back into a starting role and he was outstanding, leading the Tigers to a 9-0 record with 13 touchdowns and only one interception in the first eight games of the season.

Here's the podcast of my conversation with Lee:

JL is and has always been a class act and a great Tiger. Hated how his career ended at LSU.

Apparently he is better with it than a lot of LSU "fans". Maybe because he knows something that they don't?

Both he and JJ are still supporters of the Tigers. That's amazing considering some of the things our fans put those two through.

Imagine you play a team whose offensive identity changed mid season.

Arkansas Georgia and the last bama game all started the same and it wasn't the offense that changed the outcome.

So we managed to gain 450 yards and get shut out by bama?

Or because he has just accepted what happened better than LSU fans

Are you referring to the fact that LSU played better offensively in the regular season after Jefferson became the starting QB?

Why leave out the first Bama game?

Powerman,

What are you babbling about?!?! Nobody ever said that LSU gained 450 yards and got shut out by Bama.

In the nine games that Lee started during the regular season, LSU gained over 450 yards just once. In the three games that Jefferson started during the regular season, LSU gained more than 450 yards in every game. Every game.

Jefferson vs Alabama 92 total yards 39 yards rushing
Jefferson vs Georgia 237 total yards 207 rushing
Jefferson vs Arkansas 498 total yards 298 rushing
Jefferson vs Ole Miss 458 total yards 353 rushing
Jefferson vs western kentucky 474 total yards 291 rushing

Jefferson threw over 200 yards once in his starts 3 times failing to reach 100 yards
Lee threw over 200 yards yards once in his starts and every other time threw 150 yards or more

What about the post season? It seems to be the main complaint of most people, and it's valid.

What about the post season?

LSU faced two Top 5 defenses in 2011: Georgia and Alabama.

Would you like to see how Jefferson performed against Top 5 defenses compared to how Lee performed against Top 5 defenses?

Against the 90th and 47th NCAA defense? western kentucky was a division II school.... so they don't really count.... LSU sucked against UGA and Alabama

I agree but honestly it couldve easily ended even worse. He could have came in the game and played extremely poorly just like his counter parts...ending his career kind of like it started. How people see his career at lsu now is a guy that couldve came in the game and won the championship for us. Honestly, do you think thats how it would've went?
