I haven't heard a Quinn Johnson shout out in this thread. What about him? He's built like a square box.

Probably a LB we had several years ago from Texas. Can't remember his name.

Andolsek was the strongest Tiger in LSU history.

The bullshite bench maxes began with Bo Davis and kept on going with Moffitt's guys doing combo deadlift/bench presses.

Andolsek had a legit 525 bench (no shirts, no spotters grabbing the bar, full ROM, etc.), 455 power clean, 750 squat.

Hell, just the eyeball test with Jordan, Steltz, and Andolsek would give you some clue.

There is a reason the alleged 550-600 lb bench fellas couldn't get north of 35 reps with 225......and, I understand muscle stamina vs power, but if someone maxes north of 500 they should be able to hit 40 at a minimum. For example, Igor Olshanski (sp) from Oregon 1-repped 540lbs and repped 225 for 52. That is reality.

My one critique of Moffitt is the bullshite bench press claims. So, he can get his guys over 500, but totally misses conditioning them enough to rep out as much as an old broken down man like me???? Its because these kids are not hitting these totals........

In the end, no one to date has had the totals that Big E lifted. The guy also ran a 4.89 40 at 292lbs in 1987......his strength translated to field dominance as well.

Pretty impressive.

By the way, you might know the answer to this: What's the deal with LSU reporting that Lonergan & Nevis have the "school record" at 374?

I always thought that seemed low for a school record, but that press release from last spring was just weird in all kinds of different ways.

another bullshite school record. Big E had his pic and record lifts at the top of the weight room for years.

i believe the true school records have been "lost".

I remember the WBRZ cameras in the weightroom showing E cleaning north of 400.....and it was broadcast statewide. So much for 374.

Tommy Moffits success speaks for itself. He can have 100 critiques and I wouldn't give a crap. He is LSU strength.

One of the linemen, I think it was Barksdale, broke the squat record or something with 700+ lbs a year or so ago

So am I missing something or is Mickey Johnson as strong as any Tiger under Moffits program? His lifts are legit. State championship records are the real deal. How does he compare to the freak, strength wise?

It would take more than 700+ to break the record. Banks and Sanders were around that while at WM.

MIKE VI.

Seriously though, would have to go with Eric Andolsek. No one played with more heart than that guy. Need more players like that.
