Didn't Kevin Faulk also have the best NFL career of any RB from LSU? I'm not saying that was a criteria for the OPs question but it doesn't hurt Faulk's status either.

LOL, Uh, NO ! Steve Van Buren and Jimmy Taylor both come to mind and both, I think are in the NFL Hall Of fame.

You need to get a fricking clue. I've seen Cecil Collins from his freshman year at Leesvile

Big Fing deal. We all had season tickets and saw what great talent he had. Go ask guys from the 50's how good Cannon was in his day.

If he had a good head, no doubt in my mind he would've been an NFL Hall of Famer.

And that in a nutshell is why he wasn't the best or close to it. To be the best, you must actually do it.

Billy Cannon has the hardware. Alexander, K Faulk, D Hilliard are worthy of consideration.

that was his freshman year... after that his production declined... I think he was making more visits to TigerLand rather than the weight room... just sayin..

How many ex LSU rsunning backs are in the NFL Hall of Fame? I may be wrong but only this one comes to mind.

I don't think he was the best back in LSU history, but I think LeBrandon Toefield at least deserves a mention

511 carries
2,149 yards
26 touchdowns

Who is the best running back in LSU history? Kevin Faulk. As someone mentioned before, he did it with very little around him. People who have been longtime LSU fans remember the bad football that was being played when he came in. What he did was amazing.

Yes, he only had Alan Faneca and T McClure blocking for him.

Faulk is the best of all time but those teams were pretty decent until his senior year.

Just thought I'd throw that out there to see if anyone would come to his defense...no one did...great job rant.

Cannon or Faulk for #1 then everyone else.

Making a all time list would be hard.
