Devin White is the only 5 star rb on the roster. He would be difficult for any team to stop and would likely have a couple of highlight runs against a team like rice. He would control the clock. But he is needed on defense and can’t see him using to much energy on the o side of the ball.

My guess is Kirklin. The guy is one of, if not the fastest players we have and has been working with the offense the majority of the season. Wouldn't be shocked to see some packages where he takes the hand off or possibly even takes a direct snap or two.

Lanard?

Yeah, maybe they're doing a wildcat package for Lanard for the red zone.

Would make sense to try against Rice just to see if it is viable.

How would you know if it's viable if you try it against Rice?

LF7 returns. Like he got sent down to AAA to get his legs back.

The risks are low against Rice and if you're going to try it live in a game, there's no better time to try. Obviously, if it works against Rice, it is viable.

This. 100%.

I read he was working with the QBs some this week.

so I'm wondering who it could be.

I want it to be Provens. He had an appearance in 1 game but no touches. He can play in 3 more and still redshirt.

I wonder what little running back we're going to slam into a stacked box or leave in for max protect this week?

Stay tuned. I hear Les Miles is going to make a guest appearance on the sidelines.

Giles. Gonna put #7 back on and catch passes out of the backfield.
Going to go multiple. 4 maybe even 5 wrs in the formation.

He was a 4 star

Here is a list of guys that were listed as running backs or fullbacks in HS in order of their 24/7 ratings. Consider that they are from different years recruiting classes. The guys in bold are not listed as RBs or FBs for LSU.

Devin White- 0.9393-****
Nick Brossette- 0.9224-****
David Ducre-0.9156-****
Chris Curry- 0.8924-****
Clyde Edwards-Helaire-0.8845-***
Tae Provens-0.8625-***
Tory Carter-0.8386-***
Lanard Fournette-0.8381-***
Justin Jones-NA
Matt Brock-NA
Trey Gallman-NA

Hope he doesn't risk our best player like that. Needed for A&M.

This argument never ceases to amaze me. Like its more dangerous to play RB than LB. Or its more dangerous to return Kickoffs than play WR. Or its more dangerous to play.....pick your position.

Every time it is mentioned that a player is going to play some position other than their usual position, people act as if the 'new' position is somehow more dangerous.

My money, for the odds, is Tyler Shelvin in the Refrigerator role. Booyah.

You mean if it works against severely inferior competition it will work?

Just about anything we dial up should work. It doesn't mean that it's viable in an important game.

We need one of our best defensive players for the A&M game? Thanks, professor.

Its not about being more dangerous. Having non-starting skill players return kicks is a way of mitigating risk.

Its more about great players being on the field more than they are needed to be.
