Jeff Brohm, University of Western Kentucky. A name to watch.

2) Shaw

Absolutely not. What has Stanford done post-Harbaugh?

Better than they did during Harbaugh. David Shaw's record at Stanford is 56-14 (.797). Harbaugh's record at Stanford was 29-21 (.580). Shaw has averaged 11 wins per season, the best in the PAC 12 during Shaw's tenure. He's won the PAC 12 three of his five years at Stanford. That, with the handicap of recruiting limited by extremely high academic requirements at Stanford. Harbaugh never won the PAC 12. Are you that stupid or something worst? Since you obviously did not base your opinion about Shaw on facts, what did you base it on? Did you just assume he was a much worst coach than Harbaugh?

Let me tell you something else, Charlie Strong and Kevin Sumlin are good coaches too, despite the Rant's claims otherwise. This year will prove both's coaching ability. Sumlin's overall record and his record in the SEC is better than Bret Bielema and Butch Jones, but neither is universally vilified as bad coaches like Sumlin. Why is that?

Although Herman would be my top choice, I personally believe Strong would be a home run hire to replace Miles as well. He has developed a starting QB in the NFL (Bridgewater). He has recruiting chops in Texas and Florida, two of the top 3 recruiting states in the nation, that are happen to be the prime out of state recruiting areas for LSU. He knows the SEC from his successful time as defensive coordinator at Florida. He had an excellent offense at Louisville and has improved the offense at Texas with a freshman QB and new OC. He is an excellent defensive coach. He would dominate at LSU.

I would welcome Shaw with open arms, but would he leave Stanford?

Charlie Strong and David Shaw would be good hires, but neither of them are leaving their current jobs, IMO.

Strong will get Texas turned around this year, and I'm not surprised it's taken him two years to get Mac Brown's mess cleaned up.

Dude I see where you are going and I really don't think his answer and anything to do with Shaw being black. More to do with not knowing jack shite about Stanford.

Agreed. I would love to have either one. Shaw has done a masterful job at Stanford. I watch them every chance I get. They run out two TEs often but the play calling and design is what a real pro style offense looks like. They actually throw to the TEs. Imagine that.

and Gundy at Okie lite. and Holagram(sp)at WV. and several HC's at successful mid majors.

some people get all hung up on the "prestige" of where we hire a coach from. imo, head coaching experience is necessary but can come from a smaller school. the important thing, imo, would be to keep our defensive staff and to hire an offensive minded coach. and, oh yea, we need to be able to RECRUIT.

it seems that it is hard to find guys that can recruit AND coach.

Briles always recruited offense heavy because he couldn't land top defensive talent and his system was a quick fix for a mid level team

Give him our talent and recruiting base with his offense and it would be scary

Maybe so. But why the assumption, when it is clear Stanford has been very good under Shaw? Or his assumption Stanford was better under Harbaugh?

Stop with Briles man, he covered up rape. He won't be able to recruit shite after that. What mother is let her son go to any school that hires him? As soon coaches on the recruiting trail tells them "Hey you remember those rape cases at Baylor?"

LSU can do better. I'm thinking it's time to reanimate Bear Bryant.

I honestly dont think you want LSU to find a great coach, Your head is so far up miles arse that success from someone else would make you realize what an idiot your have been for so long. You constantly shoot down Herman, jimbo and look for 2nd 3rd tier options. This is LSU. Only way Herman would stay is if they get into a power 5 conference. Some people dont coast in life, they like the challenge. and no matter how you and your severity of dementia slice it, Houston can not compare to LSU at their current state

And racists are the worst. But we all know racism does not exist and is just a figment in the imagination of race baiters. In fact they created racism to race bait people. Right?
