The umps

the call at third was probably bad. the picture on watch espn was too dark to verify. but the real impact in this game was the plate ump. he had one small strike zone. it influence the game tremendously. it's too bad the LSU hitters couldn't take advantage.

Maineneri is the best candidate. Idiotic not to have anyone in bullpen going into ninth inning is simply idiotic.

He isn't. He completely reamed the team in the outfield meeting after the game.

Good. They needed it.

We got 4 runs in the third inning and then played like they were sleep walking through the last 6 innings. Maybe they assumed with Lange on the mound the game was over with those 4 runs.

Hopefully the butt chewing will wake them up tomorrow and for the rest of the season....

“It’s a product of a guy not coming through in the clutch for us,” LSU Baseball coach Paul Mainieri said. “It’s part of baseball. Their pitcher beat our hitter at a time when we needed our hitter to come through."

This won't go over well on here. Lol

Wait. He's seriously blaming the hitters? The lineup he put out there where two guys were getting their first starts? And he used no pinch runners or hitters? And he take no responsibility for pulling Newman?

This is where your blind support of the coach gets totally lost and it helps to have the perspective of someone who's played at this level.

First, Should coaches chew out teams and players? Absolutely. It's often warranted and a key tool in certain situations.

But here's where PM is at his worst and why many of his players, current and former, become so jaded with him. A coach's very first response to adversity, especially in front of a young team, should not be to fly off the handle. That shouldn't be his go-to reaction at the first sign of shite going wrong. But that's PM. Instead of actually coaching the moments first and foremost, he thinks yelling will help Fraley or Deichmann get a big hit in a big spot. Or stop Lange or Smith from walking multiple hitters. Sometimes, acting like an arse has its uses, but here it comes off as not having any real control or understanding on what needs to happen to make this team better and fix the problems individual players have in key situations.

I think he will blame the basketball team because of their game tonight forcing the baseball team to play this afternoon. We all know LSU plays better under the Saturday night lights.

Your bona fides are?

Because you sure like to expound like you have multiple World Series rings.

I know Russian doesn't. That's all that's relevant to his ignorance.

I would throw the two guys that were up with runners on 3rd less than 2 outs for not getting those runs home under the bus.
