It's always cost that much (factoring for inflation ) to recruit the top players in the two college sports that matter.

Why would it be any harder to get that much together when it's NOW LEGAL to do so?

We've signed McDonald's and Parade AAs for DECADES by paying under the table. We just haven't consistently had the guy to coach them up. Talent has never been an issue for basketball in BR. Especially when somebody charismatic is running things.

All the posters who shite on McMahon need to pony up and donate to our NIL collective

Why would I invest in a program who gave the giant middle finger to its players and fans 2 years ago. No thanks, we hired MM cheap - compared to our league pay scale - showing what the school intends to invest in the program. Bring in a coach who understands the current landscape of college basketball and brings some energy. Until then, no thanks.

With precious few exceptions at select schools around the country, football and men's basketball pay the freight for all of these other minor sports, and allow them to field programs.

Now this is gonna upset the Jethro's on this board but what I said in the above paragraph is just as true as the fact that today is March 19, 2024.

Did I find you???

You are right. Baseball is popular at LSU. Just as water polo is popular at UC Irvine. Nationwide and statistically (2 key words for the mouth breathers), NOBODY cares about either of those sports. Those sports (with a few exceptions), also LEECH off of the 2 producers at their schools. If I'm not mistaken, didn't our vaunted baseball program operate in the red this past year? The 2 main sports support themselves.

But baseball is not a pimple on men's basketball's arse in terms of popularity at LSU when LSU has CONSISTENT SUCCESS in basketball . You may or may not be old enough to remember that, but it's true. If we ever get a guy that wins big (and we just had him), you'll see it again.
