If we get rained out, the bullpen advantage will go to Texas. They've already clearly showed they're the better pitching team in this series.
well their bullpen got the night off last night.

Yea, PM should save him for next game. That way Ott can go warm up on the field himself tomorrow

Yep.

That's why I'd rather rain out tonight. I've quit worrying about what Texas is pitching.

Like I said, I'd take a rested Ranaudo, Coleman and Ott against anybody Texas has. If we lose, then so be it.

Shouldn't Ross be available if necessary?
He only went 2 yesterday, and I don't think his pitch count got very high.

Hopefully he can go the whole way or 8 and then Ott but who do we have left in the pen just in case/who should we go with if he goes around 6?

Today is what is known as Staff Day. Anybody and everybody with an ounce of life left in their arms is eligible to get the call today. They've all got a long off-season to rest up.

Ross had his shot, he's done IMO. PM didn't seem to pleased with his effort last night and I don't think I'd put my NC in the hands of Ross anyway.

If Coleman and Ott can go at all, it's them.

Ross threw over 20 pitches in just the first inning I think. Do you really want to see him come in again? Texas has clearly showed they can smash the fastball. Yes, he'll be available but I doubt we use him unless we're desperate. If that happens, probably shows Texas is scoring at will, IMO.

I disagree.

An extra day gives us a fresher Ranaudo, Coleman, and Ott.

If Texas beats that, then you tip your hat.

Their day 1 starter could most likely go at least a few innings today, he got took out early. He was pretty much shutting us down. Don't know if they'd use the guy from yesterday but he didn't show any signs of fatigue.

Coleman was getting smashed. Ott pitched excellent. I'd say as of now, from what we saw, the pitching advantage goes to Texas. They've shown why they're one of the lowest ERA pitching staff in the country.

I'd like to see Green get smashed early if we play today. One good advantage for us is if they pitch their day 1 starter again, we've already seen his pitches. But that also applies to them if Coleman comes in and they were killing him already.

Dude, they won't use Jungman again tonight even for an inning. Guy threw over 120 pitches last night.

This just goes to show your pitching analysis doesn't mean much.

Berticcini had a good inning against them on Monday night so I think he is definitely a possibility.

I "heard" Coleman wasn't even an option. Wasn't going to be on the card for tonights game. Can anyone validate?

You're so sure? Their closer from the other day threw over 160 pitches for them in one game. 120 pitches and LSU still couldn't hit dick on him. Extended innings? Definitely not. But to come in for a out or two, maybe 1 inning, wouldn't surprise me at all. Anything goes for tonight...anything. Its the last game of the season...

Their starters have been impressive but the other night their relief was getting them in trouble. I wouldn't be surprised to see their day 1 starter today and day 2, even if, limited. But you act so sure, yet you don't know. Don't think anyone was expecting Austin Wood to throw 164 pitches against Boston College either.

I would pay money to have him pitch again. He pitched Monday ( yes, I know only 6 pitches), pitched 120 yesterday, and would be pitching a 3rd day.

Either that dude's arm is jello and walks 2 batters or he is superman and I want to see it.

I don't see him in the game either but I'm just saying it wouldn't surprise me. I think Texas knows their pitchers limit better than me and you. Would any of you or Texas fans guessed Austin Wood would throw 164 pitches? I'm just making a point here. Hes acting as if its impossible. I definitely see Ruffin pitching later, if needed though.

It is impossible. They would probably arrest Augie for abuse. In baseball terms, that isn't even one days rest.

Wood working an inning one day and throwing and starting the next isn't the same as starting a game, throwing a complete game and working in relief the next day. You don't know what you're talking about so quit comparing the two.

If you don't see that then you are a doofus.
