Which LSU football team do you think was better? 2007 or 2003?

Is there a consensus, or is it debatable?

2003

2007

03's defense puts them over the top imo.

2003

The offense was super efficient and the defense was up there with the 2011 team.

2007 gets shite on because of the two upset losses, but only one of those two teams were called “an 800 pound gorilla with a chainsaw for a penis” on national media.

2003 defense was better than 2007, but 2007 offense was better than 2003.

2007 offense somewhat better than 03.

2003 defense significantly better than 07.

Fully healthy I go with 2007. The defense wasn’t as good as the 2003 team but the offense was a lot better. Remember this was before Les Miles got scared of the forward pass.

People also forget how banged up that team was throughout the season but when they were fully healthy like they were against Virginia Tech and Ohio State they dominated.

In 03 there were 5 games where we didn't allow a point until the 4th quarter. 2 more games were first half shutouts. 3 more games we only allowed a fg in the 1st half. So in 10/14 games we didnt surrender a 1st half td. All told 33/56 quarters were scoreless for our opponents.

2003 defense is 2nd best defense in LSU history.

2007 offense was pretty solid though.

I don't even think that's right.

Mauck had a better season, statistically. Hester scored a couple more touchdowns, but Vincent got 6.5 yards per to Hester's 4.9, and Addai was better than anybody else 07 had.

IMO, I'd take Clayton and Henderson over Lafell and Byrd.

The 2007 offense broke multiple LSU offensive statistical records. 03 offense was a great compliment to the great 03 defense but they weren’t a great offensive team.

I believe Arky was the only team to get 20 or more on us all year.

'03 defense decides the game. One of the greatest defenses of all time. '07 would need a healthy dose of Hester, etc., because Saban would throw the kitchen sink at Flynn. '07 and Dorsey were no slouch though. And Mauck had a tendency to choke in big moments. Almost lost us the NC and Georgia game. And Ole Miss. If their all American kickers doesn't miss a couple chip shots, we lose. I'll have to say '03 wins in 3 OT. Vincent, Broussard, and Addai go Arkansas trio to pull out the win. And we all know Saban would outcoach the frick out of Miles.

The tie breaker is coaching. Saban over Miles any day.

Answer is 2003

2007 had a better performance in the NC game though.
