I am looking at hotels near Vestavia Hills, Homewood and Meadowbrook. Where is the best place to stay for things to do other than baseball for the holiday weekend?

Several hotels down Hwy 150 in Hoover that are a mile or two from the Galleria. They probably aren't all booked yet.

Hwy 280 also has several that are near restaurants & the Summit shopping area.

Stay on Hwy 150 in Hoover (really close to the Met) or off Hwy 280. Tons of places to eat off 280 and a 10 minute drive to the Met down interstate 459.

Meadowbrook.

You mean Mountain Brook?

I would stay either on 150 close to the Met and the Galleria or go out to the corner of 280 and 459 and stay by the Summit

I business travel there. Residence Inn near Inverness is close enough and has great deals on the weekend.

There is a days inn on hwy 31 in vestavia that has a hotel bar notorious for swinger couples if you're in to that kind of thing.

For real tho there are a ton of nice places to stay around here. Just depends on what else you plan on doing. I would avoid places that make you drive on 65 tho since traffic during tourney week is usually a cluster

You taking about that days in on the corner of 31 and Colombiana? Right next to the Waffle House?

The Candlewood Suites in Alabaster is nice and close. It's just south of Hoover on I-65 about four miles. I just stayed there a couple weekends back for the Talladega race. I rate it very high. Will stay there again.

The Residence Inn in Hoover is pretty nice as well. I think there is an Embassy Suites across the street. Plenty of options.

If you want to go "cheap" check out Bessemer or Pelham.
