Doesn't Shreveport have these gigantic billboards off of I-49 that says , "Welcome to Tiger Town", "Shreveport is Tiger Country","Geaux LSU/Geaux Tigers", etc?

That's like saying you can't be a legit fan of the Braves because you never lived in Atlanta, yet I would imagine that a ton of people in Louisiana are Braves fans because they were on TV all the time when they were young.

Jesus Christ. Give the guy a break. He never said that you couldn't be fans of LSU. Talk about inferiority complex. All fans are appreciated. Some may aggravate people that went to school at LSU, and they do (myself included) tend to overreact and loop all those folks into one pot. Not right, I know, but this guy never said "hey you assholes cant be LSU fans because you didnt go to school there". However, the response seems to always be "hey frick you bruh, I didnt go there and I bleed purple and gold", or "ive been cheering for the tigers since you were just a splooge spot in your old man's drawers!". No need for that response. Everyone knows those fans are vital to the long-term success of the program.

I find it annoying when some people act like one has to have gone to LSU to be a fan. It is precisely those sidewalk alums that give us the overwhelming support statewide. Why some would like to undermine that escapes me.

LSU all the way. there are a lot of graduates up there (especially baby boomers) as well as younger kids. and even if they went to Tech, ULM, BPCC or LSU-S they still pull for LSU over Arkansas or Texas. as far as NFL.. honestly, before the Saints recent success the majority of Shreveport was Cowboys fans. now it's split pretty evenly.

Nail meet head.

Some guy with a big Auburn sticker on his truck passes me almost every morning on 220. I can't stand that guy. Ha!

This does not equal this

BANDWAGON wannabe lsu fans

You sound like a major douche who thinks you have to have an affiliation with a school in order to be a fan.

Remind us all what your affiliation with the Saints is? If you do not have one, then you are a fricking bandwagon douche wannabe Saints fan.

They weren't too good when I was growing up, and I hate the Cowboys. Pretty much all of the people I knew were Saints fans and hated Dallas.

And don't forget about the medical doctors, dentists, physical therapists, etc. that attended LSU Health Sciences Center (Shreveport or New Orleans campuses). Those schools receive a portion of student tickets, and those graduates are considered tigers in my opinion (even if they didn't attend BR for undergrad - which applies to people like me). And those healthcare professionals donate a lot of money to LSU as well.

Also I think most of the Saints fans were closet Saints fans. If you asked them who they liked they would casually say the Saints but you would hardly ever see them in their gear. The Cowboys fans have pretty much stayed consistant, and now more saints fans are visible cause damn near everybody sports their Shockey, Bush or Brees Jerseys.

I am sorry that I went to LSUS since it offends you so much. It was the only school I could afford. I have always been a Tiger fan, but I guess thats not good enough. Perhaps I should cease sending money to TAF, buying tickets and spending a pretty good amount in BR on a weekend. Obviously I am a bandwagon fan.

Whats funny is there is this pure hatred for the Cowboys up here by Saints fans but no where near the same in return from most Cowboys fans. Sure there are probably some. My mom moved to Shreveport from Dallas to take a job at AT&T before I was born. She was a season ticket holder so I went to every home game since I was a baby. Thats why I am a fan.

I'm from S'Port and it's all LSU. Even tech fans are tiger fans on Saturday. I even have friends who went to a&m, and they cheered for lsu last bowl game.

You sir are a dumbass and since you aren't from Shreveport I would like you to leave and go earn a living eslewhere. Shreveport also has tons of alumni that went to LSU in Baton Rouge. Most of the people in my family are LSU alumnus and are from Shreveport yet both my step brothers who lived in Baton Rouge most of their life hated LSU and went to Tech and UNO. Go figure.

I love those signs along I-49. I'm pretty sure one says "Welcome Home Tiger Fans" or something like that. I always wonder how people taveling down from surrounding states feel when they see those signs. I always get pumped up. It's like a Friday pre-game tradition for us to say "Damn right!"

Tiger fans are everywhere - they're alumni from all different schools. You don't have to have gone to LSU to wear purple and gold and love the tigers.

All of this because some fruit mentioned a purple shirt in Shreveport.

In terms of going to school there is a very strong Ole Miss and SMU alum presence, but LSU by a landslide. Also a lot of A&M, Texas, TCU, and W & L. Also a lot of Rhodes and Millsaps. I may have met one person that went/goes to Arkansas.

1)LSU
2)Ole Miss
3)SMU
4)A&M/Texas
5) Washington & Lee
6)TCU
7)Arkansas

Athletics
1)LSU (nobody else even close)
5)Ole Miss
6)A&M/Texas
7)Alabama/Arkansas

i don't count tech, ULL, ULM.

mjm - you're an idiot... baton rouge is far and away the primary destination of high school graduates that depart shreveport to attend university...

Oh yea, the names Anderson and Campbell outside of Mike the Tiger's cage, they are from Shreveport. The Barbari's (spelling!) on the outside of the cage, they are from Shreveport. The E.R. "Bo" Campbell auditorium, he is from Shreveport (same as above).
