America's got Talent contestent Dezmond Meeks of
Pineville, Louisiana told a national audience that he was an outcast growing up in the Shreveport area, because he wore the color PURPLE.
My question is Shreveport LSU Texas or Arkansas
territory?
Or was it Dezmond's glitter high heels and makeup that really caused his negative feedback?

Since Shreveport isn't far from the borders of Texas and Arkansas, you do see some transplants who are Arkansas fans or fans of Texas schools. But its LSU by a long shot that dominates Shreveport.

is an attention whore and wanted everyone's pity. no one in louisiana would give you trouble for wearing purple.

It probably had more to do with him being flaming.

No doubt. This myth that Shreveport doesn't support LSU or the Saints is mind boggling to me having lived for 4 years now. I go to Buffalo Wild Wings a couple of times per fall, and the only other schools I have ever seen represented are Arkansas, A&M, and Bama. And that latter 2 I have only seen once apiece. I literally have never seen anything burnt orange here.

Stems from them carrying the Cowboy games versus Saints for a while.

This. Doubt it has anything to do with LSU or even sports.

Shreveport is 90% LSU then the rest. 65 Saints 30 Boys and then the rest. My best guess.

LSU all the way. there are a lot of graduates up there (especially baby boomers) as well as younger kids. and even if they went to Tech, ULM, BPCC or LSU-S they still pull for LSU over Arkansas or Texas.

as far as NFL.. honestly, before the Saints recent success the majority of Shreveport was Cowboys fans. now it's split pretty evenly.

I'd say Ole Miss is a distant 2nd as far as college fans are concerned

1. LSU by a mile
2. Saints
3. Cowboys
4. Arkansas

I've lived here for 40 years and never met a fan of Texas or Oklahoma.
There are a large number of Arkies up here.

shreveport has tons of BANDWAGON wannabe lsu fans. unfortunately i've been here for almost 4 years now, i stopped a long time ago asking these "fans" i meet if they are actual alumni. you might find one in a hundred that have any actual affiliation with the school

i always get a good laugh out of the one's that say they went to LSU-S and thus that makes them an LSU alumni lol

This is true.

LSU fans...most TX or ARK fans are transplants.
