I blame my ex-wife but my daughter tells me that she wants a fall wedding!! I told her our bye game is the same week every year (Last Saturday in October) and she'd better get that date. She then gives me that "What's more important LSU or me guilt?" Still haven't given her an answer yet.

realistically speaking he won't be the only one with a problem though.

of course he'll choose his daughter over LSU, but a lot of others won't. So it's still a good idea to discourage her from doing this.

Blame the boyfriend. If he isn't man enough to tell your daughter, "No fall wedding" he's a poor choice of SIL.

Shut the frick up. The fact that you sit on your computer an LSU forum 24/7 is a lot sadder than some guy who doesn't want to have his daughter's wedding during an LSU football game which is a pretty big problem to people in Louisiana, from guests to family to groomsmen, in case you haven't noticed

If she's going to have a wedding in the fall then a compromise should be either:

1- a bye week wedding
2- a Friday wedding

You need to tell her that it is inconsiderate to have a fall wedding for the guests, not you.

College football, high school football, other high school events like dances, etc.

It's a busy time. That's why spring and summer is best for weddings. It's not as simple as "what's more important, LSU or me"

I consider people who have fall weddings to be inconsiderate assholes who don't really want me there anyway.

Answer this way:
"Of course you are more important to me, but this isn't just about me. A wedding may be your special day, but it isn't just about you, it's also about your guests and family as well. The fact is that while your wedding matters more to me, it might not matter more to many of your other guests. LSU plays SEC football only 8 days per year. Guests and family who care about football will either resent you for making you miss a game (especially if it's a home game) or they will regret missing your wedding. Also, for guests from out of town who have teenage kids involved with football, or marching band, or cheerleading, they have to schedule their trip around Friday Night Football as well, so any fall wedding could be a tremendous inconvenience. If you care about your friends and family who love football, you would consider scheduling around football season."

Both my daughters got married in July, the dead month...they were raised not to disrupt LSU football and baseball season and hunting season...

Nothing says I love you more than a red eyed hung over Parent. It also helps to cover up for the occasional tear.

Leave it to the rant to come up with the right answer.
