Both my daughters got married in July, the dead month...they were raised not to disrupt LSU football and baseball season and hunting season...

Wife and I did the same, and it really paid off. While most weddings see around half of those invited show up, we had over 80% turnout. Even family from across the country made a point of coming down for the weekend. So many more invitees showed up that the caterer had to cook more food.

Ask her does she want everyone to come to the wedding or half the people to come.

It'll be an easy decision for her.

"A man had 50 yard line tickets for a LSU game.

As he sat down, he noticed that the seat next to him was empty.

He asked the man on the other side of the empty seat whether anyone was sitting there.

"No," the man replied, "The seat is empty."

"This is incredible," said the first man.

"Who in their right mind would have a seat like this for the LSU game, the biggest sporting event in the state and not use it?"

The second man replied, "Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away. This will be the first LSU game we haven't attended together since we got married in 1967."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible. But couldn't you find someone else -- a friend or relative, or even a neighbor to take the seat?"

The man shook his head. "No, they're all at the funeral.""

Who raised your daughter?

A few years ago, maybe more, my nephew got married on an LSU-Ole Miss day. Back when Ole Miss was good. Thank GOD, my new niece is a bigger LSU fan than my nephew who could give a shite about LSU.

The wedding was at a small church in a small town in La. Right down the road from my brother's house. Invited guests only because it was small.

Quick service, quick trip to B's house. We had rented and set up huge canopies with TV's outside. The reception was pretty much the LSU game. All outside TV's and all of the TV's inside were on the LSU game.

Good drinks, good food and a bunch of LSU fans who wouldn't have shown up without the game. Very enjoyable.
