This is not likely to happen as long as Chavis is here. The defense will more tahtn carry its weightunless the offense leaves it on the field for 90 plays.

Rohan to Reed offense was the last time our O was better than our D. Defense was terrible that year.

The offense is never going to carry this team. That's not to say they'll have their better games, like Alabama last year, Ole Miss, etc..

But the team is built around defense and an efficient offense. Unless Mett becomes all world, the offense is not going to carry this team. We are built for running the ball and keeping the defense rested.

The '08 defense was pretty bad for most of the season. I know the PPG stats look worse than they actually were because of turnovers by the offense but still. That '08 offense was definitely the better of the two sides of the ball, despite the turnovers.

Plus a few of the picks were the whole offenses fault. Several of those pick 6's could have been stopped with better tackling, or avoided with better route running. Lee made freshman mistakes, but the receivers didn't help him much.

Why do fans immediately go to the run game and rest the D as a cop out? Why can't our defense be great and score a consistent twenty four to thirty points a game?

Les is too content running the ball and jerking around for three and a half quarters for this team to ever really go out on a limb offensively to try and spark something.

Oh absolutely. It was downright pathetic at certain points. I remember during the Bama game, Rashard Johnson pick off Lee right at the end of the first half and he avoided what seemed like the whole offense to score. I turned to a buddy and said that the offense quits on Lee when he throws a pick. Dudes were just walking around watching Johnson stroll into the south endzone.

Sorry for the bad memories. Chuck Scott had a hell of a game that day.

Yes, our offense wasn't THAT bad in 08

2007, but not 2008.

Both 2011 and 2012 had more total offense per game than 2008 and not nearly the pick-6 frickups.

Youre forgetting 2010 Olle Miss 43-36
JJ 254 yards 1 TD
Run game 212 yards 4 TDs
Josh Jasper 3 FGs

Defense gave up 420 yards and 5 TDs

I would say 2010 against North Carolina after being up 30-10 at half, NC threw up 231 yards and 2 touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Also it was on our offense for basically forgetting how to play after half time.

I know you meant to put offense instead.of defense. Also, 24 points a game isnt very good. You really dont seem to understand football well. There is a reason you run more when you have a great defense. You will see the offense doing a lot more this year due to the fact that this is a veteran offense and there is some uncertainty on the defense.

Does it really count (or even matter) if you lose the game though?

I guess you missed the other thread. It's already been decided this will be the best offensive line Miles has had at LSU. It's pretty much a foregone conclusion. The season doesn't have to be played.
