Ok

This team has a shite ton of talent

It has some talent. But not championship caliber talent. It's one of the least talented team on offense in the Bertman/Smoke/Maneiri era. Again, shite happens. But I agree, they are very inexperienced and should be better next year. But we better bring in a JUCO stud or 2 on offense, or a Bregman type freshman who is ready to hit at that level right off the bat.

How do you know where this team is gonna finish up?

I don't. And I will concede that it's all relative, and I haven't watched much of anybody outside of LSU. But you are kidding yourself if you think this team is remotely in the same ballpark as past LSU teams, much less championship teams.

He will not be a closer for awhile. He might pitch against a left handed batter now though.

Supposedly he is hurt again or at the very least not feeling well after his start Tuesday night. I wouldn't be surprised if they shut him down and that's the last we see of Latz, this year anyway. Its unfortunate for the kid.

That man could be a million dollars richer. He still wouldn't be pitching, but he'd be a million dollars wealthier. However, right now he's getting an education and that's priceless.

I feel bad for the guy.

He could have gotten the education with the millions he missed out on.

It's funny that you think this. Where would he get the million bucks? Wasn't his signing bonus $900k? The government would have taken nearly half of that. So he should have skipped college for $475,000? I don't think so. Going this route he's already half way to the degree he's apparently going to need to rely on.

Here's part of the advocate article:
quote:

Latz doesn’t respond well after collegiate debut Jake Latz and his surgically mended left elbow did not respond well to his 36-pitch collegiate debut, Mainieri said, and his prognosis is unclear. Latz made his much anticipated debut on Tuesday, lasting 1.1 innings during his start in a 7-0 loss to McNeese State. He sat at 90-91 mph with his fastball in his first inning, where he recorded two strikeouts and issued a solo home run, but dipped to 88-89 in a second inning where he threw 21 pitches and was pulled after recording one out. “He didn’t feel so good the next day,” Mainieri said. “Not sure (if he’s going back to the doctor). He didn’t respond to the game as well as we would have hoped after the fact. It’s still a concern.” Latz was among the seven players who did not travel with LSU to Missouri to fulfill SEC travel roster limits. Alden Cartwright, Nick Bush, O’Neal Lochridge, Cody Ducote, Bryce Adams and Cole McKay were the other six.
