probably rght after he leads LSU to the NC. If JJ goes down against UW, i can promise you this: Lee will be going in to replace him.

You can belee dat.

Soon, just like Matt Mauck and Matt Flynn. Mauck backed up quarterback Rohan Davey, and I can't remember where he transfered to? Flynn serving as backup to Russell also transfered from LSU. Both were bad QB's. Good thing both kids thought only of themselves and moved on. LSU would have never won anything with those two kids at QB. Some might remember Mauck throwing 5 ints. in a Spring Game, many said we wouldn't win a SEC game that year. Is Flynn still dating dating Miss Louisiana USA Lacey Minchew?

Got to love questions like this...

i liken JJ a lot to aaron brooks in his first year with the saints .. similar types of QBs .. brooks had a lights out second half of the 2000 season when he replaced jeff blake because no one was really prepared for him and he was a different QB from blake .. but, give the NFL DCs an entire off season to study the guy and boom, brooks was rendered almost useless after that and couldn't adjust .. obviously, i wouldn't wanna see that for JJ .. but there are a few DCs studying film of the arky and georgia tech games right now and are going to force JJ to think and not play on instinct in '09 .. here's hoping his results are better than brooks ..

There was a time when many asked the same question about Matt Flynn. I tink that worked out pretty well for the Tigers.

Leave Lee alone.

Considering that LSU has required the services of at least one backup in 7 out of the 9 seasons this decade, I wouldn't throw out our only backup who has any experience quite yet.

2000- Ro
2001- Mauck in SECCG
2002- Randle
2004- Jamarcus at times, Randle at UF
2005- Flynn in Peach
2007- RP in SECCG
2008- Lee/Jefferson

If JL leaves it will be after this year. He will know where he stands this year.

I hate when people use the comeback against auburn and troy... News flash, we should have been leasding big time against those teams. Lee isn't that good. He shouldn't transfer cue we may need him if something happens to jj. Lee will play.

You can't read, can you.

Newsflash, I didn't say that Lee should start because of those games. And I have no clue where you just assume why we should have been up big at Auburn, or why you assume that the reason why we weren't is because of Lee.

Jarret Lee will transfer to the same school Matt Flynn left LSU for.

lee is done at LSU.

Garrett's development this spring sealed the deal.
Garrett is ready to contribute in 2009; lee is not.

Shepard and Garrett will both play before lee does and lee knows this now.

So for some reason, you imply that Jefferson is going to regress or at least show little improvement from his freshman season to this year, while Lee, who has had two seasons in the system yet still stared down the same receiver on most pass plays, is somehow going to make huge strides?

Lee will have a better future playing in the NFL as a QB than both JJ and RS.

Just wait and see.

If JJ goes down, JL starts. RS remains second QB/wrinkle player irrespective of starter. So JL can't leave.

Since two starts shouldn't be called a season, I fixed it for you.

I don't see how that adjustment hurts my point at all. If anything, it shows how much improvement the guy has already made in his game, and now he has had a full-offseason to learn the nuances of Crowton's offense.
