…Miles will get ZERO credit. It will all be attributed to the near firing. When our offense is more diverse like the final Mett season, it won't be because our players can now handle more of the offense, it will be because he "changed the play calls to save his job." When Harris and our receivers look much improved like Mett, OBJ and Landry in their final season, Les will get no credit for player development. It will be attributed to a change in the offensive philosophy "to save his job."

I think he'll get all the credit. And then he'll tell everyone on TV at home to kiss his arse.

If this team makes the playoffs next year then good. It means our coaches are finally earning their #1 in the country salary.

I've yet to see anyone clamoring for this dubious "change" explain what exactly that change would look like and if they think it's guaranteed to work given our personnel.

The type of change requested has been inconsistent, but it always ends with the assumption that it will work. Or the change is described vaguely as "Do things that will work." So if we become a pass happy spread and suck, people are insulated from being wrong because that wasn't the change they wanted, because it didn't work.

Then we will probably make a change.

I think many would be happy with bamas offense...one that isn't reliant on a freshmen fullback to be successful

I don't care who gets the credit honestly. I would just like to see a competent team through the entire season. As long as Miles is the coach at LSU I want him to do well because that means the team is doing well.

Please stop. we did not have a more diverse offense with Mett. Mett simply was able to complete the passes that were called.

Seeing as Miles recruits the personnel and he is such a gifted recruiter, what is your complaint about our personnel?

Right. And GR wants guarantees that a change will work; like he's buying an appliance or something.

Mett made a lot of poor decisions. He just had the luxuries of having a cannon arm and playing with OBJ and Juice, who caught everything.

If and when LSU makes the playoff, Miles will get zero credit because he won't be the coach.

Nothing is wrong with our personnel, unless you are wanting a completely different offense that they don't fit in or are unfamiliar with.

And I don't expect guarantees. The people demanding for this change they cannot even articulate are. Or, do they feel that if we go 6-6 with a brand new offense, that Miles should stick around?

what gets me is the sheer number of people that don't see this. personally I was plenty nervous that year with our offense because it was 3rd down passing only (basically) and the passed were just too far down the field. it was an over simplistic offense. and it screwed us big time in the ole miss game when mett's passes were so far off that even obj couldn't prevent them from being intercepted.

I expect our offense to execute better next season but I damn sure expect it to look pretty much the same as always as far as the playbook goes and the plays called on the "down and distance" situation.

bama will have it figured out pronto. in fact, we have used the exact same game plan every year against them so they won't even have to prepare for anything new.
