How many losses did Saban have per year at LSU?

So did Smoke Laval when Skip stepped down. Who took Myers place at Florida. He'll who took Spurrier place at Florida. Who took Osborne place at Nebraska?

It's not always easy to take the rains and keep ship on course.

Then went 8-5 last year. That just screams Top 5.

Just like Les so I agree. At least he didn't get blanked by the piggies.

Needed OU to lose there conference championship game to a crappy K State team. If not the game was OU vs USC.

2007's team needed more luck than 2003...

Not so much the "LUCK" of it but lets recall the tight finishes against FLA and AU that LSU basically had to pull out of their hat... Gusty calls but still.. Aside from the UGA game and the Ole Miss game the 2003 team dominated everyone...........

So they dominated the one game they lost without scoring an offensive point?

again...bullshite. did Saban help it? yes. Did he create it? frick no

He created "LSU" as a bigger national power than it ever had ben before. The best two seasons in so-called recent memory were the 1969 team that went 9-1 and the 1987 team that went 10-1-1..... Other than that, most of the teams were 7-4 to 9-2 teams..............And then the 1990's hit..... Dinardo didn't bring LSU "back" like Saban did...........

I excluded the Les slobberers on this board

You can exclude anything you want to, but based off results for the past 10 yrs. Miles is a top 10 coach. Results as in BCSCG appearances, wins, national rankings, west titles, SEC titles, and OOC record. All of these accomplishments were done when the SEC has been the strongest it has EVER been. No west title was won with 3 SEC L's.

All you point out is your opinion and the opinion of others like you. Knock yourself out, but you provide no substance to support your opinion.

Like Miles or not, like his media interviews or not, like the grass eating or not, and like his QBs or not, but the man has been extremely effective in winning since 05 and winning or results is what it's all bout. If you want to base your opinion on what you think other fans think, knock yourself out.

I will stick with results/wins/NRs and such.

Really. So that compares to this? Some losses are shocking. Others are ordained by the gods.

========
The 2007 Stanford vs. USC football game was an NCAA college football game held on October 6, 2007, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California. In a remarkable upset, with USC favored by 40 points, the visiting Stanford Cardinal won 24–23. USC entered the game with a 35-game home game winning streak (its previous home game loss also happened to be to Stanford, in 2001) which included a 24-game home game winning streak in Pac-10 play. By contrast, Stanford had compiled a Pac-10 worst 1–11 season in 2006, which included a 42–0 loss to USC. To compound the situation, Stanford's starting quarterback T. C. Ostrander had suffered a seizure the previous week and backup quarterback Tavita Pritchard had never started a game and had thrown just three passes in official play.

=========

The other loss was to Oregon at Autzen. Both LSU and USC had two losses but SC could never get past the Stanford loss at home.

Then Pitt beat WVU in the worst loss in WVU history.
It was so bad that Rich Rod, a WVU alum, felt compelled to leave the program for Michigan.

Yes 2003 was very fortunate - 2007 was a fricking miracle.

OU winning the big12 game would not have made a difference in 2003.......

You said every game but UGA and Ole Miss which includes Florida. Lets blame it on alcoholism and move on.

...and I do like Les. It would be hard not to like the guy. He's a top five recruiter. That's the track he's used in his career. Top five HC... no. He's right there with Mark Richt though.

Right now he's a modern Cholly Mac marking time toward retirement. Cholly was a really good coach who was the only player of the Bear who ever beat him twice and almost always played him tough. His record started sliding late in his career as complacency set in. Not being able to do more than that sent Cholly on his way.

Les needs to turn around the current trends.

One has coached for 3 years with one Top Ten finish at the highest level of competition... The other has coached for 14 years with five Top Ten finishes at the highest level of competition.

Malzhan doesn't even have enough games under his belt to determine what his track record is.

Dinardo was huge for bringing LSU back to being relevant again.

Saban brought us to a powerhouse.

And when the frick did you stop drinking? Did you try to accidentally burn your neighbors trailer down again?

Serious.... I haven't had a beer since the 1st of the year....... This crap I got and all the surgeries have made me think twice about all the money I was wasting, and the possibility that beer was causing my problems......
