10 years ago...judge all you want. But I dont see O achieving those same results. Besides, if he starts down that road, he wont be around long enough to equal the total failure of a record he amassed at OM.

I'm less concerned with his actual win-loss record at OM. The point is, he did not elevate his team's performance from when he took over. With a coach, by year 3 you want to see an upward trajectory or appreciable uptick in performance at some point since he's got most of his guys in place.

It'd be pretty damn hard for him to make LSU as bad as those OM teams, but just like at OM, I fear that he will not elevate LSU from what he received from Les Miles, and by the time he's gone we'll be a little worse off than we were when he was hired.

I'll gladly say he has got to go. I'm not from the bayou. Miles hasn't seen 10-2 in what would have been going on 5 years. Goal post won't move by people like me. It depends on what Lsu looks like, how they progress, how they lose. There are situations where I'd say can O at 9-3, and situations I say keep him at 7-5. Ftr, I expect 10-2, and if etling stays healthy, very possibly 11-1.

Then, why the childish insults CONSTANTLY.

We all love LSU and enjoy debating about the Admin, coaching staff, players, etc.

Instead of debating on merit, you jump in and call everyone a dumb kid because they dont agree with every word you say. It's unbecoming of a highly educated 51 year old ball coach.

Most of this isn't a debate. It's a shite on O fest. As I've stated, I'm not pumping sunshine on O. I'll wait and see. He has certainly made a lot of positive changes to warrant optimism. If he fails, fire his arse, quickly. As for calling people kids, that's what they sound like. Very illogical reasoning...comparing O at OM to now. Plain stupid in fact. There was a reason USC turned to him as interim, and many wanted him permanent there...just like there is a reason at Lsu. He did well in both respects, especially given the situation. It is a very intriguing model, one that just might work.

Btw, I'm not taking a stance, so I'm not bashing anyone that doesn't agree with me. I only bash the idiots that guarantee failure.

The come lately fan base is slowly but surely ruining LSU football ,they would rather loose 65 to 57 than win 35 to 21 because they know very little about football other that you score when you cross the end zone ! when they drop out and find something else to do we will be able to enjoy football again !

Les coached a golden age , Coach O can almost extend that for a while but not with the buzzards getting in the way !

Why is it illogical? We're talking about the same person.

When did the fanbase decide they wanted Coach O?

Was it before or after Herman and Fisher were out of the picture?

The correct answer is around noon on 11/26/16.

How? Ole Miss was the last place O ran a program.

This is a sports message board where people debate things like that. It's not bashing O.

Well once Coach Fisher and Coach Herman fell through and were out of the picture, all the Miles’ homers wanted to rehire Coach Miles’ because they said coach Miles’ had a far better record than Coach O. However, Alleva wouldn’t listen to them and went ahead and hired Coach O instead, after Coach Jimmy Johnson and Coach Pete Carroll gave Coach O their highest recommendations. Thus, ever since Joe Alleva hired Coach O, he and Coach O have become evil incarnate to them.

Meanwhile, Coach Miles with his excellent coaching record at LSU has become like the plague, because no one wants to touch him with a 10-foot pole other than Miles’ homers at LSU. In other words, apparently, they are the only loons in the country that believe he is a good and worthy coach, while Coach O is like the devil incarnate to them. If Coach O ends up with a great record at the end of the season, it will be like a wooden stake was driven through their hearts.

You are correct, Shorty.
Hence all these threads and all the defensiveness from those who defend the hire and the "model" as if it was the result of deliberate planning.

Are you saying Alleva is as stupid and gullible as most of our fan base?

ETA: We can just appoint Tiger Ree and get the same results for less money.
