LSU quarterback Brandon Harris had his first big disaster game not counting last year's Auburn debacle. The LSU offensive coaching staff brought him along slowly and seemed to be priming him for Alabama, and with the extra week to prepare, that should have had a better result.
But Harris looked like a confused freshman all over again, not just unable to get a play off a couple of times but during plays. He threw four or five passes that just had no chance, a couple that he buried into the ground and one he buried into the chest of a Bama defender, who was so surprised he ran right out of bounds. It was Harris' first moment of adversity in a season where, when we last heard him talk, he felt disrespected. It's time for him to shut up and play.

I've never known him to be a hack or GG ish but he has railed the hell out of Harris this week. In this article and in the chats.

I feel like he has avoided criticism for a pretty bad performance, but Kleinpeter is definitely coming off as prick

Klienpeter seems frustrated. Sounds like pretty much 90% of the fan base.

This board is filled with LSU fans that despise hearing the truth.

We need Brandon to win the game. LF was just palin shutdown. I think the coaches got scared after the INT and that's when I think the game changed and we got steamrolled. They should have let BH keep throwing

Just what this team needs - a little Mizzou-like activism. A very slippery slope to the cellar.

True

Then why did we continue to run the ball. Harris can't win the game if don't game plan does not allow him to get in a rhythm.

I mean...Harris had a bad game. Some of the fault definitely falls on him and I'm sure he would agree with that.

Everyone is to blame for last weeks' debacle. Harris shouldn't be immune to criticism.

Not letting Hrris throw much after the Int.( if the stats bear that out) would be very much like Les pulling the RB who fumbles. He seems to assume that more fumbles will follow form that back.
And we have lots of really good RB's so maybe that makes sense...
But we have only one QB.
when we shut him down, the passing game is shut down.

Hey, if you're going to bask in the glory during the good times, you have to be willing to live with the criticism in the bad.

That said, I think this is just an asinine statement

LSU didn't do anything differently in the passing game than they did in game one vs. MSU. They weren't bringing Harris along slowly. What you saw against Alabama is just LSU's passing game. PERIOD. He could have had 12 weeks to prepare and it wouldn't have made a difference. When are people going to wake up and stop blaming the QB? There have been 5 QBs since Matt Flynn. All of whom have struggled mightily at times. Eventually you have to realize that there is only one constant through that time.

I really feel bad for these kids. They have to take constant criticism from the fanbase, media, etc. Yet, the coaching staff rarely does anything to put them in a position to succeed.

i love harris but he shite the bed. it was pretty abysmal. theres no way to put window dressing or glitter on 6/19. hes going to be asked to do more. he needs to prove he can. something besides throwing jump balls.

Coaches and players should be held accountable for that garbage performance last week. Lots of blame to go around and Harris definitely deserves some of it too. He will improve and the experience will help him in future games in hostile environments.

After the Florida game Harris said the offense felt dissrespected because of the perception they couldn't effectively throw the ball. Harris threw it well that night but Kleinpeter was right on the money to call him out for a performance like that after the way he acted after the Florida game.

I don't see where Jim is wrong. It's his job to criticize. I for one agree with him. I'm tired of the talk. You're a great QB? Prove it. Get your calls in, make your reads, hit accurate throws, and make smart decisions. Don't overthrow a 4 yard out route inside your own 25.

I know all these guys want to #let6out but to do some things Harris has to be more accountable. You can't rifle balls at your receivers from 3-5 yards away.

Coaches have to help him and call better plays.

Right, but he's a true sophmore, 1st year starter that was completely let down by his oline and coaches too.

So while he def played like crap, the entire offense, including our oline, did too.

The question is how does he respond to this game and improve from it. Telling him to shut up like the writer did is stupid. You want players to play with a chip on their shoulders

The interception Harris threw was on a terrible play call. Two tight end full back set. Only wide out was Quinn who has caught one pass all year and we play action throw in the direction of a freshman tight end (Moreau) and Quinn. Moreau alligator arms it because he is scared and the pass gets picked.

Harris did not have a good game but let's not act like some of the play calls weren't at fault.
