How can we be sure that he was(is) plan A?
Was it ever announced?
Or was it all speculation?
Were the fans misled by the sports news personalities?
Just because Orgeron and Kiffin were on the same staff isn't iron clad proof of anything.
All I see here is gossip, no facts.
I think the entire football world was pretty sure that Kiffin was on his way out at Alabama(voluntarily or not) after this year when Saban hired Sarkasian as OC in waiting.
There are a lot of programs that would love to have Kiffin as HC as their rehab project, so how does OC at LSU make sense?

#1 would be Tee Martin current OC of USC. Would bring solid recruiting with a open spread style pro style offense. #2 Major Applewhite- BR native who OC's under Tom Hermon. #3 would be Lane Kiffen.

FWIW, Houston people think it's a done deal. And by Houston guys one is the main guy at a Houston pay site. According to him, he's 100% sure they offered Kiffin. Hopefully there's a crazy buyout and Kiffin declines.
