I may be in the minority, but I like Boutte. He's just so fricking big and strong and seems like the only mauler on the line. Everybody else is just a shade over 300 lbs, but dude goes 340. And he looks like he's in much better shape this year. I think we can all agree Malone has been the weak link, so do we re-inset Boutte at RG and kick Mae out to LT. He may seem more like a natural guard, but wouldn't that get our best 5 on the field?

I think it would help out the line if we aggressively run the ball early. I know it isn't popular around here but that is still our bread and butter.

Hopefully a lot better than it has the last two weeks when they were dominated and handles by a D1AA school

He still looked lost too many times. Instead of moving up the field and actually hitting someone/ANY one... He was too often spinning around lost.

ETA: clearly I was not talking about the FINAL play... Oops.

Malone is definitely the weak link and it's gonna show once you get into the speed rushers we will see in the west. The problem is MT is so much better and more suited for guard than tackle. I don't think moving him out would help much

I know QB would be easy to say would be our team's biggest issue, but our Oline is mostly likely the largest weakness on this team right now.

I really wish our OL would gel better.

I agree about Boutte. I'm still annoyed with what he did but he was suspended and hopefully he learned from it.

I say put Okeke out at left tackle and see if guys don't blow by him on a regular basis.

Gonna have to agree with you and say Malone is the weak link. I don't think he will be on the field as much when SEC play starts up. Miles will continue to rotate the line until he finds something he believes is the best fit. Hoping Teuhema stays healthy all year and possibly works his way into the LT spot

Better I hope. Rough, rough two weeks for them. Silver lining is there is plenty to work on in film.

Not yet, but they played much better Saturday than they did against Wisconsin.

Based on an analysis I read earlier, Clapp is limited by his turf toe. If he wasn't, he could play Center and Pocic could be kicked out to LT.

Eh, they had their moments I guess, but then they looked like this too:

I would die a happy man to see a well executed screen just once this year.

I'm for trying that. He looks the part. And Clapp and Mae have been slowed both weeks by ankle injuries, I believe. I still think the OL can be a strength if we get the right 5 guys out there and they stay healthy. I didn't pay much attention to the TEs Saturday, but apparently they love Roddy there as a big blocker. I know everybody hates our jumbo package cause the defense puts 8 in the box, but if you look at LF's long runs last year, a lot came like that. He makes 1 guy miss and he's off to the house.

wtf? I think you'd better explain this. are you saying our game plan should be dictated by what the line wants?

Pocic needs to be out at left tackle with someone else playing center. Pocic is built like a left tackle and gets abused at center against good defensive tackles
