What’s the closest thing to Skenes for us next year? And what others will rotate?

Could shores come back. How big would it be to land Burns?

Doubt shores pitches any next season. You won’t have anything as dominant as skenes

People need to treat Skenes like Burrow. Just forget the idea that we'll ever have someone even close to that in our lifetimes and you'll be much happier and less disappointed going forward

Shores will not play as big of a role as you are thinking next year. Think Javen Coleman this year. Hurd will be our #1 or #2. I don't think we land Burns, but if we did, it's hard to tell. He struggled as a starter this past year but thrived out of the bullpen.

Thatcher Hurd will be our Friday guy - deservingly so. And while he doesn’t have the stuff Skenes has , he will be very formidable.

Tommy John. Coleman came back faster than usual. If shores pitches any next year it would be great.

So as of right now Hurd is the only weekend starter that we know of?

Yeah until the draft shakes out it’s hard to guess a rotation. Plus who knows what other arms Jay brings in.

What studs do we have coming in with lots of potential? Do we have a good chance at making another run or do we need a year or 2 to develop upcoming future stars?

We likely aren't really going to know until next spring. Last summer we had 6 or 7 guys that we thought could be in the starting rotation, one of them being Little. Fact of the matter, we could have 3 starters in mind going into the fall, and that could change when spring practice begins, then change again before the season starts, then change multiple times during the season.

We’re gunna be looking for the next crews or skenes and there is a good possibility that NEVER happens again. Those two were generational talents

Let’s just focus on getting quality guys and stringing another run together!

Pre-season, "some" would say Shores had a better arm than Skenes. I guess the potential is there but as others note he won't likely be recovered by '24.

Some who have the potential to become really, really good are Hurd, Herring, and maybe Coleman.

I'm hopeful that Johnson can land Chase Burns out of the portal. Though I'm not sure what the smoke is on that front. When he entered this board was saying it's a done deal. Now it seems he might be headed to TCU.

If LSU lands Burns, I think we see Hurd, Burns, and Noot.

Starting pitching next year will have its question marks, but the bullpen should be much healthier and deeper.

If LSU doesn't get Burns, one of the lefties will be a starter.

It will be interesting to see how the transfer pitcher from UCLA (Gage Jump LHP) shakes out. He and Hurd are good friends. If fully healthy, I think he will factor into the weekend rotation.

Let me rephrase. Who’s going to be our best and most consistent pitcher next year. I would assume Hurd. After that who do we know we’ll have available?

It’s way too early to know anything about pitching. This years rotation changed most of the season. You’ll have to wait thru fall and into spring. Hurd will start. Other than that no way to know.

Well this is one way to get your idiotic threads back on the rails. It's a bold strategy, let's see if it pays off.

Try being less soft if you are going to post here. Or at least try to start better threads maybe.
