Gilbert 4+

Newman 1-2
Hess 2

You would have to consider some matchup guys out of the bullpen. Everyone outside of Hess is on a short leash.

Keep the next guy loose at all times. Honestly, 4+ from Gilbert looks manageable.

Peterson would be game 1 of natty.

Gilbert 4 or 5 innings.
Newman 1 inning.
Poche 2 innings.
Hess 1-2 innings.

Yeah, you could go to Poche game 1. Unless you use him in a short bullpen role tomorrow. I can see it coming up. Good point though, that's 4 day rest....he should be able to do that.

I was just thinking the same with Poche, but I think he pitches less. 2/3 inning or so. Whatever it takes.

There's absolutely no way Poche pitches tomorrow. Hess will bridge the gap. Goes at least three, if not four.

Gilbert - 4-5

Newman, Beck, Bush, Poche? 1.1-2.0

Hess - 2.0-2.2

Unless we need a situational lefty to retire 1 batter to get out of a jam. It's not outside the realm of possibility that he'll come in to face a batter or two if necessary to prevent them from hitting a grand slam off our middle relief.

These guys are about to move into a new phase in their lives where they pitch on shorter rest than they do in college, the adrenaline will carry them through.

Coleman pitched Friday of the CWS championship then pitched an inning on Sunday. I wouldn't want Poche to pitch but it's not totally unfeasible for him to get some middle relief work

No way in hell does Peterson ever need to see the mound if we make the championship series. Much less start a game.

Hopefully caleb goes 5 and we can get 2-3 out of newman and 1 from hess.

If he cant go 5, i think we see either bain or peterson for a couple before passing it to newman/hess

If it's a close game I expect them to use Hess for as long as he can go after Gilbert. If we can by chance get to the 5th or 6th with a decent lead than look for them to try and save Hess. He won't come in with more than a 3-4 run lead I would assume.

Bush should never see the mound can't find strike zone and Beavers take pitches

I'd like to see Gilbert throw 3 and then the first time he gets a runner in scoring position, you bring in Hess. Hess closes that inning out, pitches 1-2 more. Then play matchups all the way until the 8th, when you give it to Newman. Let Newman do what he's been groomed to do all year long.

But what if Bush can lick the Beavers?

I expect a guy to be in the bullpen ready to go all game.
