Not many people know this unfortunately, but:

Magee, on only 86 carries averaged more ypc than Hill.
Deeming him more effective in the run game.
Magee: 86/626 7.3 ypc
Hill: 203/1401 6.9 ypc
fwiw obvioulsy

IDK if you're kidding, or just being stupid. Usually one's ypc decreases with extra reps.

he's not a change of pace guy, i dont know why people keep saying that. He's a sturdy 210-215, with a low center of gravity, and is hard to tackle. He could easily be a feature back

He was a backup this year but will definitely be change of pace next year when Fournette overtakes him during the year.

Why are people so confident that Fournette will just come in and push Magee to the side? He's a backup because of Hill who is probably the most talented LSU RB for quite some time.

only carrying he's gonna do is bringing LF7 and Hill some much needed water... and that's the way it should be im sick and tired of this seniority BS like Welter getting playing time

So basically you haven't watched/paid attention to LSU this year... Magee could start on a lot of rosters.

Magee will be a key special teams contributer this year. It will be the BugaHill show

This is true and McGee is a stud. But for LSU, he is a change of pace back. Sometimes, hitting a hole a split later or earlier makes all the difference. That is what McGee gives us in the run game

He ripped TCU when Hill was out and Blue/Hillard were giving LSU nothing. He was the best back against Ark. from beginning to end and he and Hill hammered UF. He was LSU's 2nd best back last year and it wasn't even close. He could easily be the feature back if Hill wasn't on the team. Simply put this guy proved he more than just a 3rd down back.

LF is a great prospect, but he's still just that, a prospect. McGee is a proven commodity and should be second to no one other than Hill to start next year.

2013 could be the best stable of LSU backs ever. Hill is the best back at LSU since Faulk. IMO McGee is better than any of the 2011 backs. And LF COULD be better than all of them.

So Ford is a Ray Rice guy, and Magee is a poor mans Ray Rice... Therefore making Magee and poor mans Michael Ford. Yet Magee is way better than Ford ever was at LSU. Makes 0 sense.

edit: And his name is spelled Magee... not Mcgee.

But we will run the ball way more than last year. Even with LF, Hill and Magee will see an increase in carries. But I do see LF getting the 2nd most carries on the team, behind Hill. 40 or so more carries than Magee.

While I would agree if this would be any other back, but Fournette is absolutely different. Once he comes in, he will be competing for the starting spot. That is guaranteed

I'm not going to argue with you. It will be Hill/Fournette and then Magee will be a distant third.

Magee is going to get an LSU starting RB amount of carries next season, whether he starts the season out as the starter or not.

What do you mean by change of pace? Fournette is faster than Magee

I don't believe this, just explaining why people think that.

1. Several national recruiting people have said that the only running back to come out of high school with this much hype was Adrian Peterson. They clarified that that doesn't mean he is a similar player or they expect that kind of production from him.

2. People here have heard the first part of number one and didn't hear or ignored the predicate part.

3. People here have googled Purple Jesus and discovered that he overtook presumptive junior starter Kejuan Jones who rushed for 925 yards the previous season. This is why they are confident he will come in and play.

4. Purple Jesus then ran for 1,925 yards on 339 carries for about 5.7 yards per carry and 15 touchdowns as freshman. This is why people are confident he will be the crusher of worlds.

5. People put all this together and just assume he will be purple and gold Jesus.

None of this is likely to happen because LSU is never that lucky. Also, McKnight, Joe. Let's hope he comes in and can give us, let's say, 2011 Kenny Hilliard production and go from there.
