I disagree... If players are found ineligible by the NCAA they'd forfeit any games they played. ...And they take academic ineligibility very seriously.

Bamafan, you putting down a 4 digit wager on the Tigers this weekend?

I was very happy to have gotten my bet in before this went off the board due to possible suspensions.

Before this game got pulled was it the biggest lock in the history of football? Tiger Nation has to be LOADED down on this game at a pick correct? Seeing as we have no prayer and all. What the hell was Vegas thinking? With the recent struggles down there at least you had this free cash opportnity waived in your faces.

So on Sunday when most offices are closed, a new revelation has surfaced? Count me in as someone who doubts your information. The Tigers will be ready to play, regardless of who is on the field. I just don't trust information coming out this soon and on a Sunday.

I'm happy if all the team plays. I want the win to matter to others. Of course, we have to win first.

You haven't watched much of LSU lately.

We seem to play to the level of our opponents lately and let everyone stay in the game until the end.

I hope that we come out and beat the crap our of UNC, but we have had our fair share of close games against what should have been less talented teams.

I'm not a betting man, but I wouldve put everything I owned on lsu over nd, sugar bowl 06.
Also, bama over texas last year was a pretty solid lock.

The Urban Meyer approach. Sit them against The Citadel or Coastal Carolina or whatever cupcake is on next week's menu.

Big mistake IMO. You pick and choose suspensions for violating team rules or missing meetings. You sit anybody for all games for NCAA violations until some conclusion or risk probation and lose a few scholarships. If in two or three weeks it is found that nothing was done improperly, play them. They could still compete for the ACC.

its actualyl against Ga Tech, which is equally if not more important than your game. LSU is national stage and opponent, but Ga Tech is a conference game in our division. Im guessing the staff would prefer to have them back for conference play.

It's the exact opposite. Unless officially cleared anyone who is being investigated won't play due to the risk of playing an ineligible player.

Also, not sure if this has been discussed yet but their game next week is Georgia Tech. It won't get the national hype as the LSU game because of the big OOC matchup but it's more important for UNC's season.

Ima bank on the fact that several sources said that around 7 defensive starters were moved too the scout team. I don't see how, if these players are suspected of the violations, they can be vindicated before Saturday in the ncaa's eyes. There was also the reports that the 2 starting cbs have been dismissed. But that's just my gut feeling. Too much smoke for there to be no fire.

is a vacated win really that big of a punishment?

I'm thinking this is all a smoke screen. Call me overly suspicious, but I smell a rat here. If there was enough evidence to demote them, wouldn't there be enough evidence to suspend them entirely? They can come back from a suspension if they are cleared. If there isn't enough evidence to boot them off the team why the scout team thing?
This is like trying to get a size 10 foot into a size 9 1/2 shoe. It just doesn't feel right.
Something just doesn't fit in this scenario.
