UT accomplished in one day what we couldn't get done in two months. That says more about the administration than most things. There is a not a bigger quagmire in college football than the UT program, yet they got what they wanted in a few hours. Tough place for LSU to be right now, that we can't get a coach with two years head coaching experience to even give us a serious look.

I think we didn't just lose Fisher and Herman, but Fedora as well.

We didn't lose any of them. This was not a destination job for Fisher or Herman.
Fedora is all sizzle and no steak. He is nothing special.

Ask Florida how easy it is to find a head coach. They are 1 for 3 after Spurrier and I'm not counting Beaver mouth McIlwain because I think he is still a question.

Fleck and McIntyre were probably the best alternatives but either of them is a gamble. The SEC is different.

Now Alleva went wrong. He is a terrible negotiator he feels pressure from the fans he panicked he told everybody yes he didn't protect Arranda he actually tried to stop Arranda from meeting with his own agent at one point. The guy has no business in the SEC or at any major football program. 2 years in a row he's made us look like a clown show and the ADs that know how to play the game abuse him at every turn.

Larry Fedora makes much less than Ed Orgeron and coaches for a school that doesn't have near the recruiting opportunities we do. I don't really need a "site" to tell me he would have come to LSU

then why didn't he go to UT last year? they were going to pay him more than Orgeron makes.

the guy still makes a shite load of money and is very happy in Chappel Hill. it is a great community and the intense pressure is on the basketball coach, not the football coach. everyone is different and money is only a motivator up to a point. studies confirm that. happiness is one hell of a difficult thing to achieve and I totally understand taking that over more money, esp when one's needs and wants are already covered.

You are a buffoon if you think Herman to TX was not the plan for the last 12 months. They have been courting for at least that long.

What UT accomplished was they burned more cash than anyone in one day on a medicorely successful mid major coach with two years of experience that everyone swears will be the next Nick Saban. They spent $19mil on buyouts and $25-$30mil on Herman an have yet to hire a staff.

It is interesting to note that they fired a coach with better offensive statistics this season than the offensive guru they hired... Do you think their hire covers their deficiency? Go ahead and downvote me for blasphemy. What UT did was go all in on a ten handed round of Holdem poker.

I'm not a buffoon, I just happened to have an opinion different than yours. That's why they make ice cream in multiple flavors. Everybody has their own opinion of what's best.
