I remember this like it was yesterday. I was stationed at Damneck Naval Base in Virginia Beach. My buddy I was working with was enjoying berating me saying the usual shite when the game is in the bag..The rest is history. Reminded me of the Kirk Gibson bat vs Eckersly. It was beautiful.

the ultra-dramatic

Two out
Bottom of the ninth
50th anniversary of the CWS
Batter coming off an injury that kept him out until the post-season, with 0 homers
Walk-off home run

Pretty dramatic IMO

Warren Morris

I also remember Cora crying and throwing a fit after the game. I felt bad for Morrison but definitely not Cora.

It was a good game and a GREAT finish!

I was working in Baton Rouge that day. I watched the game with about a dozen LSU fans and a few Southern University alumni. The 3 or 4 SU guys wore Miami hats and or shirts. Just to show their true colors because they were not Miami fans. I didn't see any of them wearing that shite the rest of the day or any other time after. Truly a golden moment in LSU sports history.

McDonough nailed that call. One of the best calls from a national telecaster IMO.

Come on even after 20 years you can't admit that there was hugging going on.

There is an espn article about 6 or 7 years ago, not sure, but about this CWS and it interviews Skip, Morris, Cora.
I highly, highly recommend reading it as it will give you goose bumps.

Did they renovate the outfield of Rosenblatt before the 2000 series? It looked different than when I went that year.

Went with parents to the mall and remember being in Sears TV section watching last two innings

When he hit the ball I screamed oh my god and some old Sears employee ran over to me like someone had died asking what was wrong

I just kept saying Oh My God
