They may not fall like a knuckleball but pop flies way up there like that are really hard to judge..

Your magic crystal ball tell you this?

I know so, it's common mathematics.

That's asinine. What happens to common mathematics when someone throws a 9 inning no-hitter?

Ummm...what? You ever caught a high pop up before? They are difficult to judge but they don't fall like a knuckleball
You're right; it was an exaggeration to say they fall like a knuckleball. All I was trying to say is that those high pop-ups sometimes fall with movement, making them hard to judge, especially when the wind is blowing.
I hoped that you guys would get the gist of what I was trying to say. Next time I'll be more specific.

Actually, I find scoring baseball and softball games is a lot of fun. I've been doing it for 35 years, so it's kind of a habit now.

Note 2: It is not necessary that the fielder touch the ball to be charged with an error. If a ground ball goes through a fielder’s legs or a pop fly falls untouched and, in the scorer’s judgment, the fielder could have handled the ball with ordinary effort, an error should be charged.
This is in the official college baseball rule book for 2017. I always thought that if it wasn't touched it was a hit, and it usually is, but in this case, it looks like the scorer is 100% correct in calling it an error

Deichman is used to the left side of the field where a right handed batters balls tend to drop fast. But on the right side of the field they tend to carry further right and more straight down than expected. He just has to adjust to it which will come in time. That ball should've been caught by the infielder that was camped under it, but one little error in an entire game that wasn't very costly. They'll improve.

Doesn't detract from enjoying the game.
Hell - in fact I enjoy it more. Baseball is not that fast moving a sport that you miss anything while 'scoring the game.'
Adds to the enjoyment factor to me.

No it's not dumbass. And the subject you want is statistics, not mathematics, and even statistics doesn't say it's a sure fire thing. Only that the probability is higher.
Now go back to school and learn the difference.
