Wow, so Poche was one error away from a perfect game. The error was on Deichmann. How the hell does a RF make an error that costs his pitcher a perfect game? Wow.

Sucks for not getting a perfect game but a no no is still impressive.

Sun looked brutal at that game time. Not sure if that's what affected Deichman because there was some shade, but yeah our right side of the field (specifically 1B and RF) need to work on the pop ups.

First gameday of the year and the only thing I can come up with that we need to work on. Amazing.

It wasn't a sun problem. It was plenty low enough. The wind had more to do with it.

Not trying to take anything away from Poche, because he pitched a beautiful game; however, the official rulebook states that mental mistakes and misjudgments are not scored as errors. (remember, no one touched it)

When pop-ups are hit as high as those two today, the ball falls like a knuckleball and is extremely difficult to judge.

I was scoring the game today and I disagreed with the official scorer. I would have scored it a hit. I think because he had a no hitter going, the official scorer did Poche a favor.

I really wish that any of the 3 tigers that had a chance would have caught it, thus making it a perfect game.

All said and done, Poche pitched a gem. Hats off.

You posted in multiple threads that you were "scoring" the game. Sounds like you are just a fan who can't enjoy a fricking game.

Ahhh the old myth that it is only an error if someone touches it.

Ummm...what? You ever caught a high pop up before? They are difficult to judge but they don't fall like a knuckleball.

Falls like a knuckleball? You just lost all credibility with that.

Lighten up man. Lots of fans 'score' games. I can remember sitting in Wrigley in '73 as a kid watching the Braves (Hank, Garr, Evans, Niekro, Dave Johnson) and scoring the game. I think the programs had sheets to help fans do that. Doesn't detract from enjoying the game.

He easily gives up a hit or someone in the bullpen does if this game goes 9
