Looks like he took a year off after the previous 20 years in coaching to him to Florida, New York, California, Mississippi and Tennessee.

If there was only a place one could go to see what the head coach of the team was doing prior to becoming the head coach...

Do you know how hype this board was to get Orgeron on the coaching staff as an assistant?

He was an elite recruiter with head coaching experience from Louisiana. This board was pumped.

That eventually turned into a 15-0 National championship. Things are not going great this year or at times in the past. But it seems short sighted to not look at the whole picture. Even if we need to make a change in the next few years.

His original book idea was a diet book titled “Take the rice out.” Until he won a NC.

When USC passed him over he took a year off despite getting several assistant offerings and the USC coach offered him a job as well.

Came home and took a year off and followed his kids playing high school sports in Mandeville

Was a weekly guest on Off The Bench talking about college football

Miles hired him as no other head coaching opportunities presented themselves

The rest is history

He still is an elite recruiter and a good DL coach.

Next year will tell you how good of a head coach he is.

about 30% of that excitement was because everyone thought we'd screwed up the DC hire with Steele. we needed something to get past the melt.

O lived with NLU team around the corner from MIles and would go out to run when he knew Miles was driving in so Miles would talk to him.

The guy is an outright "snakeoil" salesman just like his great friend Petey Jenkins. Two muscle heads of a kind. O is not a good football coach....period!
