bullshite. TQ struggles to create his own shot against shitty sec talent.

We need to hit free throws!!

Quarterman is a talented player to say otherwise shows a lack of basketball acumen. Quarterman is more TALENTED than Garrett Temple at this stage of both careers when Temple was a Soph. at LSU.
So if Temple can latch on to an NBA roster then Quarterman has a great shot also.

That's were I think people miss the boat here. Is LSU as talented top to bottom as Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, UNC? Of course not. Are they as talented as anyone not named UK in the SEC? Absolutely. That's why the conference results are maddening
We have one five star and what 2? four stars? Plenty of SEC schools with that level talent. Top 3rd for sure which is right where we are.

This. I'm not saying he is a great player. He is good. But he is really talented. Simple as that

" We need it to come on for Robinson"
Robinson was a wasted scholly CJJ plays up tempo run and gun style. ER will never thrive in that scenario. He's a throwback player, a true center that doesn't fit in with 90% of teams in CBB.Epps is the project who could huh rive in that style before he leaves. He should get more minutes this year.

TQ is has such average talent

I was reading the topic without looking at the date and was like did anyone watch the game today . And to the people saying Tim has no shot at the NBA needs to look up how Alfred Payton is playing in the NBA. Tim reminds me alot of him.

I think Patterson and Hornsby are hard working role players, but neither is really talented as such. Quarterman has average talent but plays hard and effectively much of the time.
Ignorance overload. Congrats for that.

If quarterman has average talent then you've never watched another basketball game outside LSU. Laughable
Dude is 6'6 or 6'6 with good ball handling and passing vision. Shot has come a long way in one year. Plays good defense and is really long. Yea average talent
Agreed. LSU's depth is weak but quarterman is very talented. To say hes not is borderline ignorant. I will never coniseder that posters opinion ever again. What an asinine comment

Amazing that a thread talking about a kid who had a TRIPLE DOUBLE and is only the 3rd player in LSU history to do so, as a sophomore albeit, is viewed by some as "average."
Obviously those who say this, don't understand nor have a clue, for one how tough it is to accomplish such a feat, let alone in a 40 minute college game.
To say that TQ is not a bona-fide NBA prospect is laughable. Props to him for becoming that in less than one year from where he was last year. He undoubtedly will only continue to mature and show more polished growth in his game before he plays his last game in a Tigers uniform.
When he is in the NBA, not only making a roster, but being an intrical part and necessary player on a PLAYOFF team, no less, coupled with the fact of "missing" him at LSU, only then will some realize the talent that TQ is.
As noted earlier, he is definitively better than Garrett Temple at the same stage of their LSU matriculation and Garrett now can be viewed as a legit NBA player for sustaining a career of more than 4 years. Dude will get a pension even if he doesn't play another day from this point.
To those who say TQ has only "average talent," only shows that they are ignorant of basketball, poor evaluators of talent and have the mindset that if your not "LeBron or Durant" your not good.
I don't post alot, but when i see some of the asinine and uneducated comments in this thread, about a player who should be a 3rd Team ALL SEC player this year, with time and ability to make 1st team in the next 2 years and solidify himself as a possible NBA lottery pick, I feel compelled to point the obvious out.
Stop hatin. Dude might be the most important piece to our chances of success to make a deep tourney run outside of Martin. And yes, LSU is a 80 percent lock to make the tourney with one more win. Just enjoy watching TQ while u can because anymore startling improvement out of him and next year could be his last to jump pro.

One last thing to ponder on TQ, Elfrid Payton was a mid-lottery pick just this past year... TQ is a better offensive player, especially shooting, at the same stage of their careers, similar court vision to Payton and TQ may be on the same level defensively, and if he is not, he is not far behind. Payton's athleticism and ability to drive is the only attribute that I would say is superior to TQ, but he can improve his ability to drive and finish through contact by getting stronger, which he will eventually attain.
TQ WILL be in the NBA barring a significant, career-threatening injury. Average? Lol.
Hell, even Patterson might be surpassing "average status" himself these days with his play in the 2nd half of the year....
TQ only has to learn being a consistent NBA caliber player every game, but there is no doubt that he is more than on his way to doing as such. Today was a preview of what his "average" play could become.
Average..... I'll take his average self on my team over them overhyped Harrison twins and the majority of any college guards in Div. 1 and I like my chances of him outperforming his counterpart.
At this point, TQ could possibly finish his career as a player who could be on a LSU all-time team if he continues to get drastically better and consistently gets close to triple doubles every night, especially with the talent he may play with next year and the assists he could rack up with other surefire NBA talent coming in.
Think about that for a minute and the realization sets in that if both Mickey and Martin would decide to come back, LSU could arguably have its most talented team ever assembled and a more than legitimate chance at a National Championship next year. That starting lineup would be 2nd to none. Average... Stop that.

But the count who said TQ was average claims to watch 1 basketball game a night. Plus he has seen every TQ home game the past two seasons. Perhaps the NBA scouts should listen to him.

I get amused when I read/hear how talented our team is. It isn't loaded with talent.
It's all relative George. Is it top 20 level talent, probably not.
But when you compare it to the rest of the teams in the SEC, a strong argument can be made we are the 3rd or 4th most talented team in the conference, which is about where we were picked before the season.
And we certainly have the talent to make a field of 68, which after some disappointing under-achievement at times this year, we've put ourselves in position to do.
