This season has been so awful that even 6 wins would be regarded as a success

Though this was a down year, I think the program will do better if Coach Jones goes one more year. I guarantee you'll see a different and better team next year under Coach Jones.

You can't guarantee crap. No way we get better with a worse roster(assumes blackney and reath leave)

The new coach will be an improvement. Hopefully, a new offensive philosophy and a rebirth. It will take several years to contend in the top 4 of the SEC.

Really just depends on the quality of coach we get. You have to sell the players and fan base. You can't go cheap. The decision is with Mr. Alleva and his supporters.

I'm sorry that coach Jones was not able to get it done here. A quality educated coach makes all the difference.

If victor hasn't transferred may be comes back for his Sr year with a new coach, transferring again for him doesn't make since.

I'm curious if that will be an option. Victor is very talented and would fill a huge hole. I haven't heard anything about him in awhile. If he is in school and where he is. Does anybody know any updates on him?

He was dismissed for violation of team rules it's my understanding and to me that's not a suspension. I don't think coming back next year is an option, but I could be mistaken.

But I do think it was University policy and not the stated "violation of team rules" that was really the issue. And dismissal, not suspension if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sure if the door IS open for him to come back.

They need another quality big man bad
James Thompson at EMU would have been fantastic, from BR and first lost him to South Carolina then Eastern Michigan

Honestly I think they need an experienced PG more than a big man. We lost our top 3 ballhandlers from last year, then turned the position over to a raw freshman. It ended up being a disaster. I think Mays will be good, but that was a huge error..

Yes depends in who it would be but if he's a good recruiter he'll have players committed to him that will follow him.

Looks like you got the reaction and attention you wanted. NCAA, hahahhaahhah! Get real. New coach will not create miracles and if it is still CJJ, how could anyone expect it to be better.

Victor will not be coming back because his problems will continue. Remember Tyrann was coming back after a year before he got busted? You have to hit bottom before you can start back up.

People say the talent is there because we have three or four players who can make the highlight reel. What they forget is that is only one or two plays a game. The rest of the time they are making turnovers and playing some of the worst defense ever seen.

No capable big men. Reath and Robinson have some of the worse hands ever. Reath lacks strength, Robinson lacks mobility. Epps can make the highlight reel with dunks and three pointers but still can't box out on rebounds and play good defense.

Sims is good but too short. Mays still tries the same stuff that worked in high school but college players are a lot quicker and faster. Potentially a very good player but needs to watch a lot of film and figure out what he does wrong.

Blakeney definitely goes pro somewhere and Sampson is probably the most likely to transfer. All in all next year will be better but no tournaments.

Judging from your post I think you will be surprised at what a difference a new coach can and will make. So many things have snowballed that IMHO we have no idea how good these kids are and can be. I honestly believe this.

Yes, I'm not seeing much improvement, perhaps 6/7 SEC wins( and thank you SEC for having so many crap teams). This year of course they did as well.

I agree with what you're saying. I'll add that even though we stunk this year our offensive production has been really good considering the coaching. We will probly lose Blakeney but Sampson has great potential Simms is a fine offensive player Reath has very unique skills for a big man and Mays looks like he will be a very good point guard. If we get a good coach in here ppl are gonna be very surprised at what these guys are capable of. When Brady, who I don't consider a great coach, had this kind of offensive production he averaged over 25 wins and a sweet 16 birth. The cubbard is far from bare even with the departures to come.
