And what percentage do you think was trying to give the man a polite sendoff?

I've been in Tiger Stadium for all but two of Les Miles home games in his 11 years, and I listen to the "talk radio", and I have been known to peruse this message board thing....there's no way all of those people thought they were fighting to keep Les by giving him applause.

this would be the majority IMO

I think most people thought they were giving him a nice sendoff, hell even the players did

utterly amazing how this all turned out

I was giving a polite sendoff. I felt like most people were. I think most LSU fans understood that it was time for him to go, but he deserved a great sendoff.

Now we all have eggs on our faces.

All those people showing support for Miles really upset you guys. Made you realize you're in a vocal minority and you don't like it.

That's just the excuse LSU need/used to explain that Les was still the HBC after the Jimbo chase blew up in their faces.

I think at the end of the day we were saying thanks for the memories I for one was expecting it to be his last game, the press conference with Aleva after the game came as a surprise for most fans

How many of those callers do you think attend games?

Did you chant his name at the end of the game? I just don't see many of the crowd telling him to GTFO the last 3 weeks to 10 years chanting his name for any reason, unless by some sheep like reaction.

Do you go to the games? Do you hear all the grumbling in the crowd? Do you talk with people in casual conversations about LSU football?

I'm telling you, and the others in this thread have relayed the same sentiments, other than the students (who hate Alleva for not letting them blurt obscenities) and women, much of that applause was being polite and thanking the man for all the good that he has done at LSU. Everyone thought the man was leaving that field for the last time as head coach.

I think most people (pro and anti) thought he was done and just really wanted give him the send off he deserved. I'm pro miles and, while I hoped Alleva would change his mind, I didn't think the crowd would have anything to do with it.

I think the fans were giving a nice sendoff to Miles. I think Miles even thought he was coaching his last LSU game. His family did to and showed up to give their support. Then they announce that he will remain our head coach. I was shocked! This was handled terribly by the powers that be and I think they should all be fired.

That isn't necessarily the same crowd that is pissed that he is still here, though. The guy who thinks the program is fricked beyond repair because Miles kept his job did not chant his name in the stadium. Again, unless his nature is to just mimic those around him.

That was the students, and they were 9 when Les Miles got the LSU job.

There was a poll on Nola.com Times Pic this past weekend-

Vote in the poll and discuss in the comments section below?

I get the discontent, but Miles deserves at least one more year. 33.63%

Yes. Wanting to fire Miles was/is ridiculous. 31.09%

No. Saturday should've been Miles' last with the Tigers. 25.08%

If LSU couldn't get Jimbo Fisher... 10.19%

And so now as fans their love for LSU is not as great as yours is right?

They weren't the only ones anyway. There were people in the uppers chanting along with them.

You think that was a normal post game celebration for winning an ugly game over a mediocre team to cap an 8-3 season?
