What kind of impact could a fully healthy JD Moore have against Bama this year? Last year our offense totally fell off a cliff when we lost him. Now he's back healthy and an extra year of experience under his belt. He could be the best Fullback in the country.

I believe he is the most underrated player on the team. Not taking anything away from LF7 at all, but the two just click when they are on the field together.

Moore will help, but an effective passing game will do more to beat Bama than anything else. Can't allow them to completely ignore the passing game and stack the line against the run.

Also, if something happens to him again. Mouton got another year under his belt. Shouldn't be nearly the drop off this time

I hope he can make Harris not get a hernia while simultaneously making the defensive interior better as well.

I think injuries and defense will be improved. And I think JD more will help the running game. But I'm tired of the notion that our losses last year rest squarely on BH's shoulders.

Deception is still better than predictable .

JD can't make a whole in that D line if they know what's coming.

Let's hope Les learned something from last years game.

JD is the most underrated player on the team. LF didn't do near as well after JD got hurt. Great full back!!!

JD Moore alone will not help that much. Alabama's gameplan on defense last year was ingenious. Show two high, manipulate the CWM audible to RAC, right before or at the snap send both safeties crashing into the box to create a mismatch. This entire gameplan relied on the fact that we were so run heavy (73-27) that the chances we would burn them were next to nothing.

Now if we get more balanced and have JD Moore, I think you'll see him make a difference at the margins on advantage run plays.

You mean they "stacked the box?" Weren't many audibles being called.

If we allow their D line to do what the did last year, nothing. All you have to do is look at their game against Clemson. Their defense is very vulnerable against a balanced offense when they are forced to play straight up.
Their defensive alignment looked absolutely nothing like it did against us.

Maybe, but our OL that game was absolutely atrocious.

A healthy JD Moore and Dillon Gordon would have made that game interesting. Maybe still not win but that really hurt us.

I feel like not having Dillon Gordon was a bigger loss than JD More, personally. When you have a blocking tight end that is the same size as an offensive lineman (6-4, 295), his block allows the FB to get to the second level and make the key block that can spring a play. Especially considering his backups (Jeter and Smith) weighed 210 and 240 respectively. Losing both was brutal, but I personally put more weight into losing Gordon.

Do you think it's possible that they will have a couple of plays that have JD and mouton on the field at the same time like goal line situations? JD is a great fullback, but I think mouton is pretty good too especially after the couple of games of experience he got towards the end of the year. He is an above average fullback that may be too good to keep off of the field a lot.

Losing JD Moore was a huge hit.

We went from taking out 1 defender per play to actually having issues with the FB getting in the way at times.

And a healthy BH. The game was really close and easily winnable going into halftime.

An oline that dominates vs getting dominated is the only thing that would have made a difference.
