Don't forget Bama 2000 either. Refs were about to give Bama the ball on a muffed punt even though LSU recovered. Saban was at the 20 pointing to the jumbos screaming his arse off and refs corrected after a TO.

If I remember correctly Bama punted to LSU. Bama also drew a flag for interference which lead to the muffed punt. I'm not sure the refs would have made it out of tiger stadium had they fricked up that call.

Terribly shitty photo quality, but the best I could find.

However, any true LSU fan should know what's happening in this pic. The best moment of the game. Put LSU ahead for good.

It may just be the fact that I was living in Atlanta at the time, but IMO this game is extremely underrated in terms of putting LSU in the national spotlight.

GT's stock was sky-high and no one really gave LSU a chance. It also set the scene for LSU's SEC championship run the next year.

Also, Davey relieving Booty at halftime gave this game a movie-like Shane Falco comeback feel.

The arse beating we gave Brady Quinn and Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl.

I'm a big fan of that one too.

Was clearly a case of "Notre Dame privilege" that they even got chosen to play in that game.

I'll never forget Samajzieday (however the frick you spell it) mockingly flipping the football at an LSU DB early in the game after he made a catch in front of him.

ND's final passing stats? 15-35, 148 yds, 2 ints

I have fond childhood memories of being in Tiger Stadium to watch 2-8 LSU beat Arkansas 35-10 with Rohan Davey at QB in 1999 after firing Dinardo

That was my first LSU game, will always remember it. Mealey had a big game if I remember right.

Flynn to Byrd vs Auburn is the loudest I've ever heard the stadium.

ETA: and the most underrated part of that play is Hester absolutely destroying the blitz coming right up the middle giving Flynn enough time to throw.

I remember that shot like it was yesterday. 10 year old me signed up for basketball because of that shot. And I remember going to a court and standing where he took that shot and said "There's absolutely no way in hell...."

I've mentioned this before, but mine is the second homer by Hawpe against USC in the 2000 CWS.

It was the most picture perfect swing I think I've ever seen. He blasts a 500 foot no doubter OUT of Rosenblatt and stands the bat up on the plate before walking to first. Such a badass moment.

Totally agree

Idk if this counts but also Deans 3 run hit in Omaha in 08. Remember listening to it and thinking "Jim, there's no way all 3 runs scored that fast." Sure enough

A little Seimone Augustus breaking ankles and knees

LSU was arse-raping Kramer's mom's team and the PMAC was on fire.

Pistol Pete Maravich hits a half court hook shot
as time expires in double overtime while he is going out of bounds in his last regular season college game.

He had just put on a 1 man dribbling ball freeze
taking on the spent bulldogs.

The Georgia crowd gave him a standing ovation

He later said the hook shot was one of his favorite memories.

If JR doesn't hit that pass and LSU loses to UT at home up 21-0 at half 2 weeks later, I'm not sure Les lasts. LSU lost 2 regular season games in 2004 and 1 in 2003. Les starting 0-2, Katrina or not would have looked really bad.

If we fired the coach after that, it would have been bad for LSU. In 04 LSU scraped by Oregon State, UF, Troy and Ole Miss. Saban could have easily left here with a 6-6 record. LSU also only had 3 away games that year, one being in Little Rock. That Arkansas game was the only game LSU won away from home all year. That team was not very good with Saban, Jimbo and Muschamp coaching them.
