9 in a row? Similar to belly stomping and late hits after 15-0, shite gets frustrating

But for real

Cohen acts like an arse hat most games between the two teams.
Stall tactics.
1st base coach screwing up LSU's relay in 2010.
Cohen calling to throw at Katz in 2013.

The guy came out and ripped into his pitcher in a 10-4 game in the 9th.

The hate predates Cohen, no? Pretty sure it goes back to Skip's days.

LSU and State built SEC baseball in the 80s. There was a rivalry because they were usually two of the best teams and had hall of fame coaches. But Skip and Ron Polk had a ton of respect for each other.

Mainieri and Cohen hate each other.

Didn't Polk peel back one of the countdown numbers during the last season of old Alex Box?

He was coaching at Mississippi State in 2008. State had a ceremony for Skip before a game in 2001 in his last season and LSU did the same for Ron Polk at the Box in 2008.

They were CWS good before LSU was. Sorry you can't give a program its due. Ron Polk is the father of SEC baseball. Skip took it to another level.

Meh. Not to shite too hard on Polk who's a class act but he's father by default since no one gave enough of a shite in conference to challenge him. His second tenure at State says it all about how he'd fare in today's game and is emblematic of what State baseball has become since everyone cares now. I mean Arkansas and South Carolina weren't even in the conference the last time State won the SEC.

State is classy fans in the LSU baseball mold and usually respectful players. I don't think there is any legitimate bad blood today that's not been caused by Cohen who is somehow a shittier person than he is a coach. For CPM to hate you, you have to be a legitimate pile of garbage.

Here is part of it...an article about the 2013 game

quote:

In the top of the 2nd inning, Mason Katz stepped into the batter's box to lead off the LSU at-bat against Bulldogs senior Kendall Graveman. To provide some needed background, remember that Katz slammed three home runs in the first two games of the series and had hit seven in five games prior to Sunday.

After Katz dug in, Graveman's first offering sailed high and behind Katz's head, a pitch that had all the appearances of a purpose pitch.

Home-plate umpire Jay Asher immediately popped out from behind the plate, took two steps toward the mound and pointed at Graveman, issuing a warning. He then pointed at State coach John Cohen and did the same.

the rest of the article here with quotes from Mainieri and Katz.

Cohen sucks, but all the starkvegas and jabs we take at state started with Bertman.
