So as long as LSU wins, you don't really care what he does?

That's awesome.

Ouch! Paint me surprised. I thought the purpose of an athletic scholarship was to help a young man [or young woman] get a great education at a fine institution. Not take advantage of the taxpayers generocity [the taxpayers do subsidize these scholarship football players......right?] to land a NFL contract.

Okay, I'm caught in a time warp, since I recall a time not too long ago when most young men played collegiate football on a scholarship to get a degree. That was their first priority {my how our priorities have changed]. But then I realize there's no room for idealist anymore. We're been run over [or should I say pushed aside] by the rush towards 'big money'. After all 'dem' NFL owners got to fill those taxpayer subsidized [or should I say funded] gazillion dollar retractable doomed mega-big stadiums with $ 12.00 cups of beer [just guessing....I don't attend NFL games] at the concession stand. How much $$ are those NFL tickets on the fifty yard line anyway? Ouch!!

Sam brought it on himself

He brought it on himself being drafted to backup JJ Watt, following one of the greatest D-Lineman seasons in NFL history....?
Houston had unrealistic expectations for Sam because they've been spoiled by outrageously good D-Line play since Mario Williams. I lived in Houston over the summer and the local talking heads absolutely railed on Sam all summer- saying he was too slow or needed to switch to LB. Guy got no respect from Houston fans and IMO deserved to be treated better. Further he got scapegoated by a team thats in absolute disarray and has been shite on all season. Terrible organization completely mishandled his situation with a myriad of excuses. frick the Texans, frick the haters, Big Sam deserves better.

Just a white man's opinion...

He sure did......FRICK Houston. As a Houston resident I can tell you Sam didn't belong here. This team is/was a time bomb looking for a place go off. Any team would be better. He just needs to get his cleats dirty again and he will be fine.

not sure about that. the Raiders seem like the most consistently dysfunctional/ poorly managed franchise. but hey, if he can get in there and show some promise, maybe he can rehab his image.

Sam used to stay after ever LSU FB to sign each and every autograph, pose for ever picture, hug or high five every kid, and even hand out LSU wrist bands. He would be there long after every other player had left. He'd stay until the last person left smiling. He was A tiger and will always be a tiger. He made a poor comment and decision. That doesn't change that his heart was for LSU.

Sam was a great kid. Had a good year in 2011 and then it lazy. I think if he learns from his mistakes he can last a few years. It may just have to be a shitty franchise. Glad he got signed.

Nevis got cut yesterday. Kinda thought he would do better too.

It is Christmas time and as LSU fans we should be counting our blessings and feeling joyful for all the good times he and his team mates provided to us.

I wish him and all the Tigers the best! Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night!

The difference in how people treat Sam and Tyrann on this board is pathetic. Say what you will about Sam, dude lead the team in sacks two years in a row. Not many players can say that.

It's like the fans feel like he owes them something. It's his prerogative on how he handles his career.

I don't see the need for why you need to tear him down. Ya'll pretty much sucked his dick when he was playing well in 2011.

Just because he hasn't played as well since then, it's like he owes you something. Pretty pathetic.
