Miles is convinced by Crowton that he finally has a QB to really work with.

Will he retain him as OC?

If so, would you be OK with it?

Well if he is convinced that this is the case then I don't see why he wouldn't keep him.

But but but Miles already thinks Jefferson is the best qb in college football.

Its a valid point. Most will scream hell no but Crowton has done well when he has a QB that doesnt need to be developed. Mett will have been coached elsewhere just like Flynn was coached by Jimbo before Crowton got to LSU. However then if Mett and Crowton have a good season together, we start this whole vicious and offensive cycle over again before we get to fire his arse. So I would not be okay with it cause I want a long term fix, not a one season fix.

Seeing as how he wanted to replace Crowton after last year I don't see how he can be retained another year.

If Mett is the runner you all are claiming him to be - Crowton stays then

Gary Crowton had a great season with Matt Flynn, an aged quarterback. Regardless of LSU signing Metterberger or not, I don't see Miles firing Crowton. Miles seems very confident with Crowton at OC, but that just might be CLM's class showing, idk. I'm interested to see how GC would do with Metterberger at QB two seasons from now. I don't really buy the idea that every defense coordinator in the SEC has GC's offense "figured out". That's just stupid, and yea, I'm aware of GC's career.
Don't get me wrong though, I don't think GC can develop a QB and I certainly don't want to wait two seasons before seeing a decent offense. LSU definitely needs a new OC.

What if the world really ends in 2012, will our team still have a shot in 2013?

Yes. The Mad Hatter would have survived, along with the players that were in the same room with him.

Go with the flow. I don't expect Crowton to be fired regardless. Only way he leaves is if he finds another job.

Why do I want him redshirted? Because I would like to have a backup in 2012 that isn't a redshirt freshman.

Is it bad that I would rather go with a redshirt Freshman over JJ? Heck, isnt UGA's qb a freshman?

The poster who made the most sense reminded us Miles wanted to replace Crowton last year, but as was reported a lot, Alleva wouldn't allow it. I just don't see how Crowton can survive past this season, with two straight poorly rated & poorly performing offenses. I would bet that Mett is no dummy & probably realizes Crowton will be gone also, or he wouldn't be seriously considering LSU.

why wouldnt Alleva allow Miles to get rid of Crowton?

first of all its not like Crowton did anything to deserve being here another year based on the failures of the past two years and secondly, how is it Alleva's place to tell Miles whether he has to keep a guy he doesnt want to run HIS teams offense?

Alleva did not want to pay off Crowton's contract, as has been reported. That would have to be done if Crowton were dismissed last year.
