we would be lucky to win 7 games and our best qb would rot on the bench for another season before transferring

But bad is bad, and AJ is just bad. He lacks talent. He will almost certainly improve

The rest of the team will carry Jennings to at least 9 wins, IMO. If he can even slightly improve, we win 11-12 games.

What I hate most about qb history at LSU we have NFL caliber defensive players year after year but can't get solid qb play.

LA is loaded with athletes. Last qb to get drafted was stefon lefors in 2005. So basically Miles whole tenure there have been 2 qbs in LA probably good enough for the NFL. RP and Dak Prescott. That leaves us with searching the rest of the country to find qbs, while the NFL talent on defense and skill positions are in our back yard.

You could say we were lucky to win 8 or unlucky we didn't win 10 this year. Goes both ways.

I think Jennings and Harris are both serviceable QB's as are our recievers and will be much better in 2015. With a little help from the man in the booth this offense could be pretty good in 2015. However if we keep doing what we have been doing we will need the D and special teams to carry the load, which should be good enough for 10 wins and a 2nd or 3rd place finish in the west. I 'm hoping that we go for the SEC west title though.

Having said all this I think the bet is moot because I think that Harris will do what he needs to to prove he can lead this offense and LSU will make the playoffs.

Let's part this happens!

LSU finished last in the SEC in passing stats and Jenning's finished second to last in the SEC for QB rating. That didn't get him benched, so nothing will. He will be the starter next year and the passing game will suck again!

Assuming we can go 8-0 with either QB

HUGE assumption. At this moment, I don't see significantly improved production from the QB position in 2015. If I had to make a prediction at this time, I'd say we go 8-4/4-4 in 2015, as we did in 2014.

So your prediction is that the QB doesn't improve at all and we have the sake record as this year. Thats earth-shattering.

Where do you see our losses? Im guessing Bama and Arky, but then are you picking two teams we beat this year, or two teams whose rosters will be destroyed by the NFL.

Statistically, I believe we'd have to improve from our current #15-16 SEC QB ranking to maybe #7-8 ... in order to finish 9-3. I wouldn't bet on this. I believe we'll finish somewhere around 9-11 among SEC QB's in 2014, with losses to:
• Bama
• Arkansas
• Ole Miss
• Take your pick between Auburn and South Carolina
8-4/4-4 in 2015 ... which is what I predicted in 2014. Naturally I hope I'm wrong, as I did in 2014.

I just don't think Les & his coaches know How to coach QB's! His new JJ will struggle until he is replaced with an average QB. AJ is not an SEC caliber QB & never will be. We will have to run every play & win next year withDefense.

Just curious. In your prediction, which underclassmen, if any, do have going pro?

I can think of no rational reason, given JL's career vs. Bama, for anyone to feel "strongly" bout us winning that game with JL.

As to 2015, I will assume the LSU O staff starts the guy who they think offers us the best chance for success. If that's Jennings, great. If that's Harris, great.

that's a team stat. to say a QB who had literally 4 TD passes in a season (2010) was responsible for such a lofty 20-3 record would be dishonest.

exactly. Both are pretty good QB's, Harris has more upside and Jennings more experience. Seems obvious after the A&M game that some of the necessary tweaks are going to be made to the offense this offseason, so both should appear much better to the casual fan and the pass game should be much better as a result both in regard to the recievers and QB's.

To say that Jefferson had 4 TD passes in a season would be dishonest. And do his rushing TDs suddenly not count?

And as a team, they did better with a Jr/Sr QB (20-3) than they did with a Fr/So QB (17-9)

It was a 13 game season. And 7 rushing TDs in 12 games.

We don't even make the national championship with Jarrett Lee.

Don't get me wrong, he was a huge part of our season that year. We wouldn't have made the national championship game with just Lee or just Jefferson.

We needed both. However, it wouldn't have mattered who played in the title game that year. Should Lee have gotten some playing time in that game? I think so. Would he have been successful? Almost for sure not. But I do think giving him a series couldn't have hurt with how badly we were looking.
