I wondered what Dinardo is doing these days, and Google shows the Tennessean posted a few hours ago an article headlined "What if Gerry DiNardo never left Vandy for LSU?"

It's behind a paywall. Anyone with access who can give us the highlights?

I’ll never forget what he did to bring back more than a few LSU traditions. Some traditions that some on this board don’t seem to care about anymore.

Are you talking about the impact for Vandy or LSU?

I don't know. That is the headline, but I can't see the article.

He did win 3 straight bowl games and had us at #6 in 98 before the bottom fell out.

The term "drop linebacker" would've never become part of the LSU lexicon.

You were a one-year old living in VA when DiNardo took over. Please tell us more about the traditions and how he brought them back.

He did leave a pretty decent amount of talent for Saban.

He did bring Lou yepper. The best linebacker coach in history. Even had his own book. But it didn't work because it takes six years to learn his system.

Just because one is young doesn’t make them incapable of appreciating history. Without dinardo, by the time I’m around, there’s likely not LSU wearing white jerseys. Traditions aren’t shite if the next generation doesn’t shepherd them onto the next. Which is almost the complete point of tradition.

Kevin Faulk goes to Florida state, Miami, or Nebraska. Dinardo is under appreciated by our fan base.

Kevin Faulk was headed to Florida.

But he couldn’t resist the recruiting and hype. I still remember the newscast of Gerry sitting cross legged at Carencro.

That was a HUGE get and HUGE turning point in the program to this day.

DiNardo gets way too much hate.
