Yeah, I doubt he has a legit shot. The award is a joke.

I can't see this team losing to anyone else but possibly Bama. Should be a NC or Sugar bowl type year again. Anything else, and it will get ugly for the whole fan base.

Expecting national championships in college football is a pretty dumb way to be a fan of your team because in all likelihood, you are setting yourself up for extreme disappointment. I'm with you that we should have another elite season next year and if we don't something is wrong. But because we don't win the national championship and fall a little short, melting down over it makes a fan base look delusional and not very football intelligent.

There is nothing insane about expecting to win the title this year. Not with the returning players, the schedule, and a chip the size of Texas on their shoulders.

The problem with LSU, as perceived by those outside the program, has nothing to do with a lack of talent; it's coaching that's the issue.
Even the talking heads who supposedly "hate" us will give us credit for having one of the most talented teams, if not the most talented team, in the country. It's the coaching that's always been suspect, because we always seem to lose at least one game that we shouldn't, and a couple of those losses have been due to some questionable decisions by Miles and his staff. The fiasco in NOLA last month just serves to reinforce the perception that Miles isn't a very good coach and that the talent we have helps to mask that fact.

NC game or sugar bowl are realistic expectations for this team. Anything else will be a huge disappointment and considered by most to be an underachievement.

Boudreaux – a real pro !

The Louisiana State Police had received numerous reports of illegal
cockfights being held in the area around Abbeville and had sent their famous
Detective Boudreaux from Thibodeaux to investigate. Boudreaux promptly began
his investigation and then reported to his Commander the next morning.

"Dey is tree main groups involve in dis rooster Fightin", he began.

"Good work! Who are they?" the Commander asked.

Boudreaux replied confidently, "De Texas Aggies, de local Cajuns, and de
Mafia from N'awlins".

Puzzled, the Commander asked, "Now Boudreaux, how did you find all that out
in one night?"

"Well," he replied, "I went down and done seen dat rooster fight in person.
And I knowed immedjiately dat dem Aggies was involved when a Duck was
entered in the fight."

The Commander nodded, "I'll buy that. But what about the others?"

Boudreaux nodded knowingly, "Well, I knowed de Cajuns was involved when
sum_body bet on de duck!"

"Ah, I see, I see....." sighed the Commander "And how did you figure the Mafia was involved?"

"De duck won."

As long as we get to the NC, I'll continue to support Les Miles.

Nice E type on the signature ...

I think LSU will be favored to beat Bama next year. In fact, LSU should be favored to win every game on the schedule IMO.

I think so too. Obviously, the bama game line will be the closest of all the other games. It will probably be almost a pick 'em line once that game nears. But we should be comfortable favorites in most other games we have.

If we fall a little short in 12, we just move on to '13. simple.

I guess the Zombie Apocalypse will happen because 2011 EXCEEDED just about everyone's pre-season expectations and everyone seems to need Prozac.

I felt before the season that the '11 season could be a championship caliber season if the QB play developed. Always felt that everything was leading up to the '12 team though. The '11 team definitely exceeded expectations, just ended on a very sour note.

Expectations were elevated prior to the championship game so it was a definite disappointment.

. Whether you like it or not, the way the season ended (as did '04) will be remembered how it ended by most fans

How it ended was in reaching the BCSCG which equated to LSU being one of the top two teams in all of college football. That has happened bout 4 times in a 100+ of LSU football.

If you want to see that achievement as a negative cause we played poorly in the game and that's all or most of what you will remember bout the season, knock yourself out.

Making it to NY last year as one of the Top 5 was just one of many amazing achievements provided to LSU football fans by the 2011 team/players.
