If I am not mistaken, wasn't he and Pearson from WM both considered the top 2 players in Louisiana a few years back?

A lot of us weren't even sure he would make it to campus.

Now he seems as discouraged as he has ever been out there. Almost depressed in his body language.

What gives? Injuries? If injured put this man on the shelf as his mental state looks shot. He just doesn't have anything right now and needs a good reset.

Its called a slump.Baseball players will go through this from time to time. Unlucky for us its happening at the end of the season, hopefully he can snap out of it soon.

It doesn’t help he starts almost every at bat in a 0-2 count.

He tries to do too much. I think it’s just a mental thing honestly

I echo that sentiment.

It is hard to watch when he gets up to bat.

I hope he bounces out quick enough for regionals. Kid has all the talent. I think his fielding has been fine; it is his at bat at the plate.

Hope for nothing best for the kid. Just noticing his body language makes me cringe.

And that is where MLB teams bring in a great hitting consultant who specializes in helping their hitters and MiLB prospects get back on track.
We have one who lives about 10 miles from Alex Box- WIll Clark. Still works with SF Giants hitters when they are slumping. Would do the same with TIgers if he was asked!
Clark has been asked by Giants to be the FT hitting coach but doesnt want to work FT.

Slumping at a bad time. Hopefully he will come out of it at the perfect time, which he is capable of doing.

He does. He’s a big Dunham supporter. He just had an indoor built for Dunham. He used to coach the 9th grade team at Dunham.

Seriously doubt he would help LSU being the huge State supporter he is.

Zero doubt in my mind he is injured, that the tendinitis is lingering but he’s playing through it.

A telling sign was Friday when SECN listed three potential position players that could pitch, and DC was not one of them.

He’s actually pitched in college games before as opposed to the three guys listed.

Heading into the game where he aggravated the injury (Friday night at MSU), Cabrera was hitting .323. He now sits at .286. A nearly 40 point dropped. After a freshman season where he batted .315.

So we had a year and a half sample size that Cabrera was a 315-325 hitter. Now in recent months he’s got to be more like 250-260. While also not being a candidate to pitch in an emergency situations after doing so the year prior.

It also doesn’t help that teams circle Cabrera as the guy in LSU’s lineup they don’t want to be beaten by. If you notice how he is pitched he rarely sees a fastball and they pitch him tough. He needs to learn how to hit when he is the guy. Sometimes it takes some time for hitters to figure that out.

He has to see that slider down at his ankles better.

Maybe he is too aggressive and should settle for a few walks.

Not using the entire field. Went back to trying to pull every pitch.

He definitely can’t see a lefty slider.

He plays with no emotion. I don't know what's going on with him but he has been a huge disappointment.
