So 6 losses in a row is the Alabama threshold for you?

I'm so sick of people using the "We are young" , "Harris is a 1st year starter" , "Next year is the year" excuses....

News Flash: The QB of each of the top 4 teams is either a 1st year starter or hasn't started a full year yet. Kizer (ND) and Watson (Clem) were in the same recruiting class as Harris.

Its ridiculous to always assume a guy can't reach his potential until his 3rd or 4th year. Our simple a$$ offense doesn't even ask the QB to do as much as those guys have to do and we still can't get consistency at QB.

3 of the last 5 Heisman QBs were freshman or 1st year starters.

I agree it's embarrassing how long it takes us to develop players.

Nice post. It's ALWAYS something though. Youth, depth, coaching changes, etc. Year after year, same old stuff.

It's different people saying the same of stuff. But it's true in this case. We had an ineffective sophomore QB last season. However, we had an effective senior QB the year prior until injured.

If the idea is to control the ball and run the clock, that falls on the efficiency of the offense. They are trying to pivot with Harris in order to get more from the QB position, which essentially means taking a step back to move forward in this offense. He's playing fairly well considering his age and experience, but there are still growing pains that should reap rewards next season. Although, they need to let him become the leader of the offense and not Fournette. He touches the ball every snap and the offense needs to reflect the grit of the QB and right now that appears anything but confident.

The bottom line is there should be incremental improvement offensively as the season goes on and there has been at that position. However, as a unit, they are struggling due to things the QB is doing wrong, the o-line is doing wrong, and the RB sometimes is doing wrong. Now that stuff has to get in-sync without your 300lbs TE and starting FB. And now Hawkins is further hampered in blocking due to a bum ankle.

Defensively, we're no longer getting beat because DBs are out of position on the pass, now it's pursuit angles and tackling that have to be ironed out. It's more growing pains including injuries that have affect Mills early (6 games) and now Tre White lately as he tries to play through it.

I don't remember the last time we've had the injury bug so bad. You couple all of this with the fact that we lost 3 interior d-line players and this team is still sitting with an opportunity at 4-2 in conference and 7-2 overall.

That being said, safety will be a huge problem next season because no one has stepped up to quarterback the DBs on the field when Mills was out. That's not a good sign.

ummm...because i was upset and the last thing i wanted to read was the bullshite on this board.

you disappear after wins (when most LSU are celebrating) except to bitch about something then double your post count after losses.

Is it possible under Miles? Sure! Am I confident? Absolutely not. I've hoped and prayed the past few seasons that we could miraculously win a Natty based on our talent, and I'll sadly continually do that while Miles is here. I'm damn sure not getting my hopes up next season like this one though. That Bama loss HURT, and the Arkansas game was just downright insulting to us as fans.

So you're a pussy? Got it.

I'm happy when LSU wins... I don't even get too upset when the team is competitive and loses (Georgia 2013).

What pisses me off is a team that brings in tons of talent year in and year out, is a premier college football power, and should at least compete for the SEC west has regressed for four years; "we're young" being the excuse for years; and constant shitty gameplanning that seems to get worse against their teams Les can no longer beat.

Next year, no fricking excuses. If something crazy doesn't happen and he's still here, he better at least make the SEC championship.

It's one thing to be optimistic, but try not being blind.

I think Miles knew the deficiencies we're seeing now were coming, and he did his best to address them by getting new coaches in. This current team is the product of Studrawa being lazy and Brick not being able to close. Orgeron and Grimes are considered two of the best recruiters in the country at their positions, and good coaches too

I agree with this assessment 100%.
ETA: If the Stud/Haley/Chavis stuff had been properly communicated by Les I don't know that the seat is as hot as it is today. Another issue is how they've addressed it through recruiting. If ever there was a team that could have used immediate front 7/o-line Juco help it is this one. Instead they tried to "out talent" with "plug & play" recruits who either weren't ready or simply never provided quality depth.
The LB issue next year is really telling. How did Les not catch the damage being done through neglect?

Guess you missed the one yesterday where I said that Miles is the best coach in LSU history and if he wins the next two it will be considered a successful season and he will 100% be here next year. I've been critical of Miles because his teams have regressed the last four years; there of course would be derogatory posts.

Reading is hard, huh?

I'd like to think the talent would be enough. But he needs a light bulb to come on and come on quickly. I'm not too confident.

I see this bullshite repeatedly and wonder if I'm watching LSU games from an alternate universe. The majority of the LSU games I watch feature a flat team with little to no intensity. They're up for one or two games a year, usually one of those is Bama, but not this year for some reason. It makes me wonder if the players knew his lack of game planning for an opponent's weakness, and 1970s offense had no chance from the outset. If that's true, Miles is in deep shite.

No, it's not. 2009 was after a single down year. 2015 is now following the following regular season and SEC records after 2011.

2012 = 10-2 (6-2)
2013 = 9-3 (5-3)
2014 = 8-4 (4-4)
2015 = 7-2 (4-2)

That's why I find it funny that people are acting like the 2011 season run up from 2008 - 2010 are equivalent.

2008 = 7-5 (3-5)
2009 = 9-3 (5-3)
2010 = 10-2 (6-2)

Those aren't the same trend at all. Les is not able to recruit a complete team and it shows, especially on the DL and LBers. Instead he just ignores the position completely and everyone blames his assistants. The buck stops with him in recruiting and everyone knew before Chavis was hired that recruiting wasn't his thing.
