I think he'll be the coach next season, no matter what happens at the end of this one.

Next year we should be very good. That could be the year.

The most highly recruited players on this team are only sophomores and a freshman wide receiver and linemen. Donte Jackson is just getting his feet wet.

I expect this team to win, but winning without the process is nearly impossible in this league. Arden Key needs this year to be better next year. Davon Godchaux needs this season to become the leader he can be for the d-line next season. Dupre has put together two solid season in spite of QB woes. Tyron Johnson is a true freshman who will be ready next season. This team is loaded but not quite ready yet.

All of that just makes me want to have a different coach even more.

If he can't do it with this talent, then you can't convince me whatsoever that he can do it with "another elite recruiting class"

Get the frick outta here, we have the most players in the NFL and have yet to win a Natty since 2007.

I'm not saying he should get to coach another recruiting class until they're juniors. I'm saying next season he'll have a very talented, experienced team.

Had a championship-level team in 2011. shite happens. I agree we should be doing more year in and year out, but the whole "haven't won since 2007" argument is just pretty stale to me.

1) Talent. We get it better than almost anybody.
2) Players play for him.
3) Solid support coaching staff.

It is damn hard to win a championship now, especially with the CFP, but we have a better shot than most.

1. Good incoming class will help.
2. Believe Miles will make some changes on staff. Look for BDP to move out/to recruiting. Look for new OC or new QB coach.
3. More experience at QB and/or new face there.
4. DL getting bigger, stronger. And more time with O.
5. DB crew getting bigger, stronger. Revamp of coverage schemes.
6. OL getting bigger, stronger.

If the above happens, then next year will be an improvement. Question is if Miles has the Want to do it, or if he will be Mack Brown complacent like the frog in the water beginning to boil. We will see.

It's our own expectations.

2013 and 2014 weren't years. We lost the entire defense going into 2013, and then the entire offense going into 2014. Even this season, we are still pretty young, with a new starting quarterback.

2012 was our last "year." And we had a very good team, who unfortunately lost a game against Alabama they should have won. It sucked, no doubt.

Next season, we'll have a second-year starting quarterback, almost all of our skill position players back, and three or four offensive linemen returning. On defense, we keep every contributor on the defensive line, and the vast majority of our secondary. Linebacker is the only shaky position, but if Beckwith returns, it'll look a lot better.

Next year really is "the year." If Miles can't beat Alabama and/or make it to Atlanta, he needs to be out.

Sorry, but I've liked our odds better in previous years when we had a QB that could throw, a defense that wasn't absolute dogshit, and special teams with half a brain.

Oh yeah? What year was that?

And Harris can throw. He does need some improvement, though.

2013. I'm still absolutely flabbergasted that an offense with Mett and ODB couldn't get there. I do have faith in Harris though.

It's just Les, is all.

Get off the LesMiles train BayouBengals.

And I said we haven't won a natty since 2007, not "we haven't won since 2007"

But if you're content with these underachieving seasons, be my guest.

Amazing you were nowhere to be found on Saturday either.

It's like clockwork... hide until Monday, cry about everyone criticizing the coaches, and blame everyone but Miles.

Try being the fan of the school instead of the coach.

I'm not on it.

I've said before that if he doesn't beat Alabama and/or make it to Atlanta next season, he needs to be out.

That doesn't mean I don't think we can do it next season. As I've said, we should have a very good team.

If LSU wins out and makes/wins the Sugar Bowl this season, the narrative on here will be entirely different in just a matter of weeks. I prefer to let this entire season play out before I make any major judgements.
