Formations?

UGA lined up to stop run?

We didn't get good push?

What's the deal? I was shocked we couldn't run on them better...

All in all, the offense looks awesome! Very proud...Looks crisp, intelligent and productive as a whole

My brother N law gives me grief about LSU offense =boring (recent years), but this weekend, he loved the game..."Exciting football"

He didn't think many teams would beat UGA that day...

Mett said some good run blitzes. We got going in the 2nd half, so it seems some adjustments were made.

Lack of deception.

IMO, UGA sold-out to stop the run and we made'em pay through the air. It was a good plan on their part. Basically, they said, 'let's make Mett beat us for 4 qtrs.' Mett's road record was horrendous (see '12 games vs AU, UF, A&M, Arky).

I'm not going to bang on the offense, but they could have run outside the tackles more. When they did, they scored.

I felt they were taking advantage of what the defense was giving them. It is kind of nice to be able to pick a part a defense now.

Agreed... They were going to make Mett beat them throughout he air... Sadly the punt muff cost us. I don't blame OBJ though... You can't catch every punt

What?

The primary job of a punt returner s to catch the punt. It appeared that Beckham wanted to be a hero and go for a return despite the fact that two defenders were bearing down on him. He looked down at the defender and the punt hit him in the facemask.

I am a fan of Beckham, but that was a HUGE play in the game, and there was no excuse for him not calling a fair catch.

A punt returner MUST catch every punt that is fieldable.

After he one handed that kickoff for a touch back , it seemed kind of ridiculous for him to have muffed that punt.

Those things happen, but that was really frustrating after the defense got a big stop.

LSU's had consistent trouble over the years of running the ball on the road against good teams.

LSU still ran the ball well enough in the 2nd half.

Am I mistaken, but were not the majority of 1st down plays runs? Typical Les...plan was to run the ball, no matter if it is working or not.

Yes, I believe you are mistaken.

We lost -- it was NOT Les Miles' fault... deal with it. We got beat in a close game to a Top 10 team on the road.

Had WE stopped them on their last drive -- we win. We didn't and then they stopped up... it happens.

Well, for the most part it's a great football strategy to run the ball first...

#1 shorten the game a little
@2 rest your defense
#3 wear down your opponents, 4th Qtr gashing
#4 Play action works when they know you like to run the ball (keeps them guessing)
#5 team that run the ball best usually wins
#6 Throwing the ball = less ball security

I see more pass on first down this year than I can remember in a long long time

I have zero problems with the play calling thus far

Yeah everyone runs on UGA except us. But it's the only knock on the O, and UGA paid the price through the air.

Yeah, our last couple of rushing TDs were about the easiest TDs I've ever seen simply because the RBs decided to bounce it outside. There wasn't a soul in sight either time.
