PM said this morning Bain will likely throw an inning against Tulane and start on Sat

The decision will come wed about thurs/fri plans - since both poche and lange will be on same rest he may give that extra day to lange

I would have no problem with that. A&M is in the same boat with their starters as well.

Thurs: Lange

On 104.5 this morning Paul Mainieri said he would have to talk to AD about pitching Lange on 4 days rest. He said he wasn't sure what they were going to do.

Question really becomes do we think A&M throws their #1 on Thursday and if so does CPM think Poche can match him?

If Bain isn't starting until Saturday, he needs 2-3 innings Tuesday.

At a minmimum, Bain, Stallings, Person and Cartwright will see action tomorrow night since they didn't pitch this weekend.

Yeah, we could see Bain start tomorrow and go a couple of innings, then get a bunch of guys some work after that. Newman and Bugg were the only relievers who pitched at all against UGA.

It was nice that Person, Stallings, and Bain all got an entire week off this late in the season. Don't want it happening again though because they could get rusty. But a little reprieve could help down the road.

Thurs: Lange Fri: Poche Sat: everyone available

So they just let this kid skip a start because of "arm fatigue" and then put him on a strict pitch count on a Saturday Start. But now we'll throw him on 4 days rest?

Na. Don't see that. We'll throw him Friday Night and then get him back into a 6-day-rest schedule from here on out to the back half of the SEC schedule.

Thursday - Poche
Friday - Lange
Saturday - Bain/Johnny Allstaff

I dont really care in what order a&m throws their arms. Wouldnt want tht to affect our decision. Poche, lange, bain works too. Especially if poche really does have more of a rubber arm as mainieri inferred last week

Your right, I was thinking they had a bigger stud in their rotation then they do (after looking at it). Looking at the numbers Long, who I assume is their Friday guy, has nearly identical numbers as Lange just a slightly higher ERA. Other then that the LSU starters should out duel A&M. In retrospect I'd send out Poche, Lange, Bain. #3for3

That's how I was thinking we'd handle it. Whoever feels better between Lange and Poche will start Game 1, the other starts Game 2. Next week is also a Thursday series, so barring more weather problems, we can move Lange to the Thursday spot either way against MSU.
